Wow- the clarity and sharpness in this shot is astounding- comparable to "pro" lens quality! This certainly does seem to be a great lens you guys have discovered!Alright, I'll add my support for the 70-300VR as well. Even though I did have to send it in to Nikon for repair, I still love it and I think it came back better than before. This shot was from back during Christmas. No where near the sub-arctic shutter speeds mentioned before though. This one was 1/320 at 200mm.

Thanks!- I will look into that bag, as it seems like it would work very well for carrying around an DSLR with a longer lens. One more question: do you know if the size will accomodate a larger body like a D3, or a D300 with the optional grip/battery holder attached? It looks like it might also hold an extra lens and (hopefully) an external flash like the Nikon SB600 or SB800!
