Alright, I'll add my support for the 70-300VR as well. Even though I did have to send it in to Nikon for repair, I still love it and I think it came back better than before. This shot was from back during Christmas. No where near the sub-arctic shutter speeds mentioned before though. This one was 1/320 at 200mm.

Wow- the clarity and sharpness in this shot is astounding- comparable to "pro" lens quality! This certainly does seem to be a great lens you guys have discovered!

Thanks!- I will look into that bag, as it seems like it would work very well for carrying around an DSLR with a longer lens. One more question: do you know if the size will accomodate a larger body like a D3, or a D300 with the optional grip/battery holder attached? It looks like it might also hold an extra lens and (hopefully) an external flash like the Nikon SB600 or SB800!

Alan... Don't know if it will accomodate a larger body. There's plenty of room for my D80. Maybe bring the camera to a store and try it...that's what I did since its too hard to guess looking at pictures on line.
