Hi,

We used the new disney photo pass service on hol in sept. This is where you get a plastic card with a bar code on when the official photographers take your pic, instead of the old paper tickets you used to view them with on your way out of the parks. Then, each time you get another pic taken, they swipe your card and its added to your photo pass 'account'. This is then available to view online for 30 days, by family and friends too.

What I'd like to know is can you buy the digital images online, or only the paper prints through the post?? i'd like to add them all to my pc photo library, but not necessarily have them all printed out?

Cheers,

Lynn

I don't think you can buy them as digital files, but you could try saving them from the site as bitmaps, of buying them on paper and scanning them in. I won't comment on the legality or otherwise

unfortunately you can't buy a download, only prints...
we ordered prints from our trips in july and august and they came out STUNNING......the pictures don't come from disney (though the envelope they come in makes you think they do)....rather if you look at the return address, you'll see they're directly from Kodak in Rochester New York...
the quality is absolutely perfect.......far superior to anything we've ever bought on the spot from WDW...

and the shipping was easy......it cost something like $4 for an overseas order and i received them within a few days of placing the order......
and the pictures we received were well worth it....beautiful....

Are they just photos or do they have a border on like you get at the parks?

You can choose a border or leave them plain - its up to you! I agree the quality was very good on the prints!

I did manage to save some to my hard drive from the Disney site (choose the email to a friend option - email to yourself and then save it as normal) - right clicking from the site doesnt work. However it saves them in a very small file and the quality isnt great (they obviously download a low res file for you to browse and stop folks doing just that)!

Im sure there was an option of a photo cd of all your pics when I came back at Xmas - check in the options menu on the site.

Thanks guys,
I'll try those tips, and I'll probably order a couple of prints. I assumed the email to a friend option would just send a link to view them at the photopass site, I'll try it and see.

note that they have a discount for ordering more than a certain amount...30% for $100, 20% for something else but i don't remember what...
so if you find that your order is up to say $90, it pays to order another picture as the total will be less than that after taking off the 30% discount...

when i ordered, i didn't see any option for anything other than prints....
by the way, i ordered without the borders.....they came out really nice....

:badpc: Now I wish that we had known that! Last year was our first trip that they had used these plastic passes,I don't recall the photographer saying that you could view & buy up to 30 days later. One of my sisters was only out with us for the first 2 weeks,we had had a photo taken with Sorcerer Mickey (whole family) but forgot to go back & get it so consequently we got one taken in the 3rd week which she isn't in!Just on a different tangent Kodak in the parks are a concession & have to pay WDW mega bucks to be there!
