Disney phasing out taking Personal Checks?

Don't know if anyone else has talked about this, but I just read on another site that Disney will not be taking personal checks for purchases much longer. They didn't give an exact date, but said the process was starting in July. Anyone have any problems lately trying to buy with checks?

It started at the beginning of this week. None of the WDW merchant sites are accepting personal checks.
