I will be going to Disney for seven days. What type of passes should I purchase. And where is the best place to make this purchase for passes?
Thanks Karen:bounce:

Karen...well, that depends.

Do you intend to spend every day in the parks?

What time of day do you arrive and depart? This might mean that you have only 5 days of park touring potentially.

Are you going back within the next twelve months?

These answers will help decide if you should do a length-of-stay pass with the DVC discount, a park hopper pass, or an annual pass.

By the way....I like your choice of avatar! :p

I plan on going to the park everyday. And I also will be staying in the Park.
Thanks Karen:Pinkbounc

Well, if it is going to be your only trip in the next 365 days, then buy a length of stay pass. If you think you'll be going back within the next 365 days, so you will actually be spending more than 8 days in the parks in a 365 day period, buy an annual pass.

Karen,

Assuming you are a DVC member (since this post was originally on the DVC board), you might want to get a length of stay pass with the DVC 10% discount. You have the option of dropping the first or last day on that pass if you are getting into WDW late on arrival or leaving early on check out day. You get those passes when you check in.

Otherwise, if this is your only trip in the next 12 months, you probably want a park hopper pass. You can buy those through AAA club if you're a member, and get a discount. Or you can buy direct through Disney.

Here are some prices to compare:

7 day Park Hopper PLUS: $305 from Florida Orlando Tickets
7 day Park Hopper PLUS: $326 advance purch from WDW
(Includes 7 days at main parks and 4 PLUS visits)

Park Hopper days and PLUS options never expire, meaning that if you decide not to visit a park on any given day, get sick, etc., you can keep the ticket for your next trip. This is the most popular way to go.

7day/6night Unlimited Park Hopper: $333 advance from WDW
(Unlimited admission to all WDW attractions. 10% disc if DVC member)

You must stay at a WDW hotel to get the UPH. You get unlimited access to all parks and attractions, but that access ends at midnight of the day your trip ends. This pass is typically only recommended if you really are going to use it to its fullest, including visits to the water parks, Disney Quest, Pleasure Island, etc. Otherwise the PHP is more economical.

If you're planning another Disney visit in the next 365 days, an Annual Pass is the way to go:

Annual Pass (4 main parks only): $392
Premium Annual Pass (all WDW attractions): $520

/
The 10% off the UPH is only good if she is staying at a DVC resort and is a DVC member.
I would go for a 7 day plus or annual. The days on the 7 day never expire.

The annual pass also gets you free parking and discounts, including some discounts on Disney hotels. If you are staying onsite, what about the Fairy Tale Package?

Thanks Karen:Pinkbounc

The Fairy Tale Package is no longer available. WDW was running a promotion in which you could get a 7-day Disney Vacation (room, Ultimate Park Hopper passes and a few other throw-ins) for the price of a 4-day trip.

Travel dates are through mid-November of this year, but reservations had to be made by June 29 in order to take advantage of this great deal.

Here are the prices for purchasing the tickets in advance at the Disney Store:

4 day adult $204.48
5 day adult $231.11
5 day plus adult $263.07
5 day plus adult (DC discount) $250.29
6 day plus adult $295.02
6 day plus adult (DC discount) $280.11
7 day plus adult $326.97
7 day plus adult (DC discount) $309.94
Annual Pass adult $392.99
Annual Pass adult (DC discount) $377.01
Premium Annual Pass adult $520.81
Premium Annual Pass adult (DC discount) $499.51

All prices are for hopper or annual passes for adults (ages 10 and up) and include the FLA sales tax.
