Disney Parks Moms Panel 2015

I had such a hard time deciding between WDW & DVC. I really wanted to apply under DVC but there are still 4 resorts I have not stayed at (OKV, HH, VB, & Aulani) and I have never done an Adventures by Disney OR been on a Member Cruise so I thought I would be counted out and went with WDW instead. I am kind of regretting my decision now...

Nothing to do now but sit back and wait :)

I applied last year and made it to Round 3. I have stayed in all the DVC resorts except Wilderness Lodge. But I have visited Wilderness Lodge, played in their pools, eaten at the restaurants, and I still didn't make it to the panel.

I think someone mentioned that even if you haven't stayed someplace, you can still do the research to find out the answers.

I love DVC. I almost went for WDW because they take more WDW panelists than DVC. But I just loved DVC too much not to try again.

Good luck with WDW!!

:woohoo:

Good point. WDW specialists haven't all stayed at every Disney resort.

Good morning everyone! Like many others, I've found myself in Twitter more often than not this year. It's so cool to follow Gary and see what fun he's got in store!

So, guess we'll all just pop in periodically to say hello and spread some pixie dust. We're one week closer to R2! :)

1 week of waiting down! :surfweb: Honestly, September is kinda flying by in my world...how's everyone else doing?

:wave2: I applied this year after sitting out for a few years. I forgot how exciting and nerve wracking the waiting period feels! Following Gary on Twitter has been very informative and makes me feel better about the selection process. Now if I could just stop going over my application answers in my head. :rolleyes1

We are moving and going in a cruise in the next 4-6 weeks (we didn't mean for both those things to happen at the same time). That's helping me stay busy and keep my mind occupied! Of course, round two will hit then as well. If I don't make it this year, at least I won't have time to dwell on it!

Hello Fellow MP Hopefuls!

I have been following along on Twitter and FB and wanted to check into the waiting room as well! I have applied for WDW specialist this year. I am hoping this is my year since I have been applying since Year 2! We are going to WDW in two weeks. Yay! It's our second trip this year. We are DVC members and I wanted to get in one last trip before our APs expired. Next summer we are going to Aulani! I am so excited I can't sit still!

Good luck everyone! :tinker:

Everyone keeps saying they're following Gary, but I'm not! What is his twitter name so I can follow?

Hi Guys!!

How is everyone in the virtual waiting room? As nerve wracking as this process can be, my fall would definitely not be the same without it! I'm so excited!!

:cool1:

I'd love to hear some of your Disney 'history' if you'd like to share!!

Here's mine:

Hi all! I'm Mjaclyn (or Marci). As a young child my parents shared their love of Disney with me and my 3 siblings. Growing up we visited Walt Disney World as often as we could; about every other year. Our trips began with offsite stays, which gradually led to moderate, then deluxe resorts. (No Value Resorts back then!) My husband and I honeymooned at Disney and he's been completely hooked ever since. As a California native he had only ever been to the parks on the West Coast, so that was his very first trip to the World! Fast forward nearly 14 years and now we have two kids ages 5 & 7 AND two dogs who have all been to Walt Disney World! (Yes, even the dogs) During the past few years we've also been able to expand our Disney horizons through runDisney, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, and (of course) more Disneyland. I would LOVE to take my kids on an Adventures By Disney trip, but that will have to wait for a few more years! Lol I've loved Disney for as long as I can remember and it seems like I'm always thinking of a way to return.

Favorite Disney Animated Movie:
Alice in Wonderland

Favorite Fab 5 Disney Character:
Goofy

Favorite Disney Live Action Movie:
Toss up between Pollyanna and Toby Tyler

Favorite Attraction in WDW: Splash Mountain

How about you? I'd love to know!

Hi Mjaclyn, love the unique name. I'm Shae. My story starts with a similar childhood. I grew up taking many family vacations to WDW. In college I wanted to participate in the College Program during the summer but my college was not a choice at the time. So I interviewed for a seasonal cast member position. My first summer I sold the glow necklaces at night. My second summer I worked as an attractions hostess at Splash Mountain, and my third through fifth summer, I worked in entertainment and was a puppeteer. I would love to be a part of Disney again. My favorite movie is The Lion King with Finding Nemo as second. I love Pluto. My favorite ride is the Haunted Mansion and Splash.

Good luck everyone!

Shae

Hi Marci! Ok, here goes... I've lived my whole life an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I don't remember a time in my life when Disney wasn't a part of it. From childhood visits, to high school field trips, to college weekends, to my Wilderness Lodge honeymoon, WDW is always part of my story. And now that we have a little one of our own, my husband and I are enjoying the World that much more!

Favorite Disney Animated Movie: It changes, but right now it's probably Tangled
Favorite Fab 5 Disney Character: Daisy. She's sassy, like me!
Favorite Disney Live Action Movie: Bedknobs & Broomsticks, I think
Favorite Attraction in WDW: A tie between Soarin' and Toy Story Midway Mania

This was fun! Who's next? :)

Hi there! I grew up about 3-4 hours from WDW. We visited yearly (sometimes twice per year). I visited every year until Grad Nite and then I moved out of the state. I didn't go back for 7-8 years (with an ex-boyfriend), and then my husband and I honeymooned in the World 4 years later (like Marci's husband, it was his first time and he was hooked!). We go with the kids, 11 and 7, once or twice per year.

Favorite Disney Animated Movie: The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Favorite Fab 5 Disney Character: Without a doubt, Mickey.

Favorite Disney Live Action Movie: Mary Poppins

Favorite Attraction in WDW: Pirates of the Caribbean

Hi all. Coming from Canada I was late to the party for a visit to WDW, not making my first journey until I was 18. There was another lull until 2011 when my wife (who had been as a child and again as a teen) and I took our three boys for a week in March. Since that almost life changing trip we've been back 3 more times including Theme Park view at the Contemporary for my wife's 40th birthday over New Years last year for the bucket list. We also spent four days this summer at DLP (very pretty, but it needs a little pixie dust if you know what I mean). We're heading back to WDW in March again in 2015.
Animated movie: The Lion King
Live Action: The Strongest Man in the World (Still remember seeing it at the drive in as a child)
Big 5: Donald (obviously)
Ride/attraction: TSM or Mickey's Philharmagic
