Just checking in! It seems as social media has evolved, the FB page is really where all the action is happening this year. I remember when most of the activity was over here. I am actually not a big DisBoards kinda gal, but I created my account just for this time of year, and I still enjoy seeing what is going on in the thread.
I submitted Sunday night. Thankfully, I did not have any timing out issues as some did. I was very happy with what I submitted. Now, of course, comes the second guessing. I love having the FB group to help pass the time, and connect with others that are as obsessed as I am, but it also leads to anxiety when you realize how fantastic the competition really is.

Once you are at this point, the majority of the folks in Round 2 really would all be wonderful panelists. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for the selection committee to choose!
I struggle with trying to creatively answer the same type of questions each year. I absolutely see the value in the "tell us a little about yourself" question, but I do believe that this year is the 6th time I have attempted to answer that question in 100 words or less. I took a slightly different angle this year, and just focused on one aspect of myself and personality, rather than trying to squish my entire self into 100 words. While the aspect I focused on is one that is very important to me, now that I am reading everyone else's I'm feeling doubtful. Maybe I should have gone for the conventional answer. I wish I knew if they took a peek back at your old applications at some of those questions just to get to know a bit more about you. Then again, I really dislike one of my applications from a few years ago. I never made it out of R1 that year, after making R2 the year prior. Looking back at that year's answers, I came off as a bit snobby. Even though that wasn't the tone I was meaning when I wrote it, when I looked back at it later it jumped out at me. But, it was too late. That was the one year I took the "just sit down in one sitting and write what comes to you" approach. I'll never do that again!
I hope all of you are remaining calm and happy. We are enjoying the last few beautiful days of fall. Yesterday I got in a run, in a tank top, in Northern Indiana, in OCTOBER! It was a simply perfect autumn day. Hoping the wait goes quickly for everyone!
