Disney Parade showing at 3AM - How will this impact the DVC advertising/marketing

Apparently according to a thread on the Community Board the Disney Parade is being shown at 3AM in some Major Markes. ( Boston and New Hampshire. )

DVC has spent advertising/marketing money to be featured during the parade, and then to show it at 3AM- It will not get seen.

I am disappointed in the fact that Disney could not work with its subsidaries to get the parade shown at a time where viewers would watch and thus DVC getting more exposure.

I'm just mad I can't see it

It will be on Christmas morning here in the Chicago area.

I already voiced my displeasure with our local ABC affiliate last night via an email. We have to watch Patriots All Access at 10:00....on Christmas morning..a football show? Please. We've set the DVR for 3 a.m. but it's still upsetting since we watch it every year that they televise it....not to mention the hours I spent standing around from 8 a.m. for the parade taping. But, at least we get to tape it. I guess that's better than nothing. But it sure will lose something by watching it on Monday morning.

It's on here at 10 AM Christmas Day-Philadelphia ABC

Sorry you can't see it Christmas morning.

Baltimore: 11:30 PM
Washington, D.C.: 10 A.M. !!!!!!

Since we get both stations we can skip WMAR and watch WJLA! I've let WMAR know that we are unhappy with their decision to re-empt the parade.

South Texas-9:00am. I wonder if just the Boston area is where the Parade isn't being shown in a prime time. I think there's a higher than average # of DISers from that area (which I think is neat, since I'm from there). Does anyone other than the Boston area have an "off"-time showing?

ABC Affiliate in Portland, OR will be airing it at 2:30pm...now I just have to remember to watch it!

Nope, I think it's just us. Due to some Patriots show. Don't get me wrong I'm a Pats fan, but a WDW fan more. The actual football game isn't until Monday night! So why we have to have a football show Sunday morning is beyond me :confused3

Here in Portland, Maine, we're getting it at 10:00 A.M. Christmas morning, and we're in Patriots territory, too! I'm a big Pats fan, but Christmas morning I want my Disney parade!

Even worse ... It looks like the ABC affiliate here in Greensboro/High Point NC is NOT televising it all!

Can I tell you how much I hate living in the south :guilty:

Interesting! I would think Maine wouldn't have it either. I'm happy for you! :cool1:

1) Let's be real about the parade.
. . . it is taped, not live
. . . it is nothing but one big commercial
2) What's the big deal about not seeing it?

I love the parade for what it represents more than the parade itself. The magic of it is the same as hearing the polar express bell, listening to the 'christmas shoe' song, and still believing in the magic. It's a family tradition that is woven into the fabric our holiday.

I did DVR it for 3am. I just thought the guide was wrong.... Looks like no parade xmas morning here...

WTVD in Durham is carrying it at 10:00.

I wonder if I can talk DH into climbing on the roof and rigging an antenna to pull in the signal from Durham :wizard:
