Disney on Ice is coming to our city in the next couple of weeks and there is a groupon deal out right now for $15 tickets. With all of the fees and such it comes to $64 for the 4 of us since my youngest is under 2 and would be free.

I've never done Disney on Ice before, and I'd love to hear more about it. I know my 5.5 year old would LOVE it, not sure how the busy 21 month old would do. She does know all the characters, but I'm still not sure if it would hold her attention.

Thanks for any advice!

My son enjoyed it last month at 23 months even though it was a Princess Show. Dare to Dream. He had never seen anything like that and for the most part it did hold his attention. He is also obsessed with the mouse and Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald came out after each Princess segment.

There is no way I will be taking DD2 anytime in the near future. I took DD1 just before she turned 3. She is my easy kid and was bored and ready to go by intermission. As a side note, watch costs for parking, snacks, drinks, etc. When we went, I only had to buy my ticket, we got one fry and 2 drinks and I think it still cost close to $50.

I took my son for the first time when he was 2 and he LOVED it. We've been twice. I would totally do it again and again. It is expensive though, but to me it's worth it.

I took my 26 month old last month. I took the portable booster seat that we have for him and put him in it. He felt secure and comfortable since we use it at home and it popped him up a bit. (To do this though you have to have a seat for him)
Anyway, he LOVED it!

We went for the first time when my DDs were 5 and 7, and I felt like we should have gone way earlier. 90% of the kids I saw were younger than 5, and I saw a bunch of Toddlers. IMO, it keeps their attention pretty well. They do have an intermission, but it seemed to me like it wasn't halfway through the show, more like 2/3's to 3/4's of the way through the show. They had like 3 segments before the break, then only one slightly longer-than-normal segment after the break.

We took my 3 year olds to Toy Story on Ice. They were great for the first half, but it took a steady stream of snacks to keep them settled for the second (it was a lot slower, the first half was much more upbeat).

I started taking my son when he was 2 & he loved it! It use to be our yearly date until this past year we decided not to go since it was pretty much a Princess-focused show.

We took DS to Toy Story on Ice a few months after he turned 3, and he LOVED it. It was a pretty long show, and he did really well almost the entire time. He started to get a little restless 15-20 minutes near the end, but that was it.

We have seen lots of Disney on Ice shows with my DS5...the first being when he was about 10 months old. He has always done fairly well at them and he is a very active/rambunctious child. The shows that are based on one movie (like Toy Story or Nemo) tend to be harder for the little ones to sit through then the shows with mini-story segments (like the Princesses). And I agree, the intermission is about 2/3 of the way through so if you can get to that the second section isn't real long and usually has a pretty neat finale.

I took my DD when she was 3 and her brother when he was 3 too. They LOVED IT! We have been every time since. They have never been to WDW, and they were just blown away. I was really impressed with the quality of the show. This is nothing like some of the other traveling kids shows...much better!! Just warn them ahead of time that you aren't buying goodies/snacks there...because it is $$$$.

It really depends on the child. We took my oldest nephew when he was 18 months old, and he was completely entranced by Finding Nemo on Ice. he was a pretty active, mobile child as well and he still sat still for virtually the entire show. His worst point of the show was actually intermission, because he didn't want the characters to go away!
