Disney on Ice show

HI all! I am considering going to see Disney on Ice Celebrates 100 years of Magic early next year. If we go (there are 4 of us), rinkside seats are $56 each. Is it worth the money??? How good is the show? Is it really, really cold in there?? I have never been to an ice show before so I don't know what to expect. Please help me out! Thanks!

We've taken our kids to hockey games before (I'm guessing it's along those lines) and they needed jackets or a heavy vest and gloves. Just what we needed from our experience. Probably wouldn't hurt to at least stick some strechy gloves in your purse.

As for the reviews, I'd be interested in those as well. It's currently in our area and I'd love to see it but don't know if it's worth the cash....

We usually get middle level tickets - (whichever ones are around $25 each) and can all see just fine. I wouldn't even consider us spending more than that per ticket. We usually keep our jackets on because it's chilly, but not freezing cold.

I've been to a few Disney on Ice shows and it was warm enough to take off my coat. So, I'm guessing it is a lot warmer than hockey games????

As far as seats / pricing........

I've always gone with cheaper seats and sat in the nosebleeds and still felt they were great seats.

Also, around here, opening night tickets are usually $10 or $12 for any seat. So, that is always an option if you could go during the week.

My son actually won 4 tickets off the local radio station. They were great seats and you couldn't beat the price. However, we spent well over $100+ for just drinks, snacks and some small toys and programs!

The kids loved it but thank goodness we didn't have to pay for the tickets!

For many of the shows the closest/"VIP" seats are just chairs that are placed out right at the edge. At ours they're about 10-20 rows deep. My aunt bought the expensive tickets once (she lives in a different state) and they were the same thing--folding chairs right by the ice. They enjoyed the show, but would have had a better view if they weren't on a flat level with a few rows of people sitting in front of her kids. I would look into the arena you are going to. I would be disappointed if I spent that much and my kids couldn't see anything.

I just bought tickets for this show yesterday, but the only inexpensive ones were waaay back. My kids just went to a circus at the same arena with my parents and sat that far back, so I asked my youngest how good the view was. She said "Mommy, the farther I am the better I can see." At least I know she will appreciate the cheap seats.

DD and I do Disney on Ice every Thanksgiving weekend. If I can't get in the front row (the very first row on the ice) I will but the $25 2nd level tickets. I really dislike being in the 2-11th or so row as the poster above mentioned they are flat seats and you really can't see much.

This year once again we are in the very first row but she doesn't know that yet.

We have sat rinkside several times. Unless you can get the very front row on the ice, it isn't worth it to pay those prices. It is a great view and the performers will come right up to you. Sometimes they will even jump over the barrier and interact with the audience.

Now we usually just get the $25 tickets. Great seats and view. We just went on Saturday and had a great time. Front row rink side is a nice splurge once in awhile, but if not then go at least 10-12 rows up for the next best view.

I'm right along with rhiansmom. I was debating on being further back (cheaper tix) but when I called Ticket Master, I was able to get floor seats starring straight down the ice. I couldn't resist. But we have been further back (upper level) before and enjoyed it.

We will be going to our show this Saturday and can't wait!!!!

The entertainment book has a coupon for Disney on Ice. Unfortunately, I already gave mine away. But maybe you know someone who won't be using theirs.

I take my kids to Disney on Ice every January. The sows are great. Some of them i have seen a few times, but they never disapoint. Once we got really close seats, and while there is limited character interaction and you do see some good details, my kids and I actually prefer to sit further up. We find you can see a better view of the whole ice stage as opposed to just the area directly in front of you.

We always get the cheap seats..DH calls them nosebleed, but they are not that bad. You can see the whole rink and I get them for anywhere between $5-$10 each. We go cheap on the seats so that we can afford the icee's in character cups ($12.00 each x2) the cotton candy ($10 a bag) popcorn ($8 a box) Dh's pretzel ($4) Dr. Pepper for DH and I ($3.75 x2) and nachos for me ($4). This is all fresh in my head since we just went 2 weeks ago.

I could not affor this stuff if I were sitting in the front row!!!

we just went and had front row, if it is not front row it would be hard to see if you have floor seats. We had great views and the skaters were right there, it was our first one and I loved it!
