For those of you who have done Disney on Ice recently, is the princess pre-show worth getting there an hour early? What exactly is it? I saw that it has something to do with displaying Princess gowns. We are going this weekend, I'd love it if someone could give me some info on this.

We're going on Saturday!! Then next Friday we hit Day Out with Thomas and then...next Saturday is DISNEY WORLD!!! Best week ever in the kids' minds. :rotfl:

I think there's a princess MnG at the pre-show.

I'm going on Saturday also. I don't know if we'll try to get there early for the princess pre-show or not though.

NOOOOO!! we went last year and it was a mad house! no line just people pushing throught to see the dresses of the princesses. Cinderella was there behind a rope waving. No picture with her nothing. Just her waving and smiling. We went with a 2 year old and she was trampled.. we icked her up and ran out of there!

They had that (in Boston) for the Disney on Ice we saw last year. It was ... eh. Really crowded, just showing the dresses. At one point, they had some of the princesses come out on this platform and wave. No autographs, no pics taken with them, just waving.

I just went to take a look at pics I took, but I guess it was either TOO crowded, or not that interesting, because all I have is one blurry pic of Cinderella waving, one of Belle and a pic of the glass slipper (all others were of our daughter and us :) )

I say if you *want* to go, go. But an hour early? No need. Get there a few minutes early and see them as you walk by. Chances are, if you've been to Disney, you aren't seeing anything new.

Hello my fellow okies!! We are going Sunday- can't miss the OU game! If you happen to get on the computer after you get back tomorrow let me know how it was. I'm sure it will be great! Jes that sounds fantastic! Have a great time! Thanks kaleighmariesmom and mchelle77. That is exactly what I needed to know. We definitely won't be going a full hour early. If we just want to see Princess dresses, all we have to do is look in DD's closet! She's been in full blown Princess mode since her 1st trip to WDW last Dec when she was 2 yrs 10 months (even before that she had worn the same Cinderella dress every day for almost a year until she couldn't squeeze into the dirty torn ragged thing anymore). We were lucky enough with the 4/3 deal to get to go again in May (had to give the in-laws equal WDW time since my Mom got to go the 1st time didn't we?)so we have had many Princess meet and greets in the past year. If you don't even get to talk to a Princess or get a picture with them, I don't see a reason to get there too early. Maybe it's just the picture, but that Belle just doesn't really look like Belle to me.

It will be a busy but exciting week!!

I thought the same thing about Belle. Her hair looks weird.

OK, we went but skipped the pre-show. I know that's not helpful. The kids wanted to get in some rides instead. The show was fun, though!

It was a cute show! The 3 year old review was "I really liked Tink, but I liked the one where the last half was Peter Pan better". (we drove to Ft. Worth to see that one last Spring because DD loves Peter Pan). We actually did go through the Princess pre-show today, but we did it about 15 minutes before the show started. It wasn't that crowded that late. We waved at Cinderella and then right after that she left and Belle came out, so we waved at her too. The displays were pretty, but you didn't miss anything. We were over there less than 5 minutes and that was plenty of time. Have a great trip next week Jes!!!

We are surprising the girls with Disney Princess on Ice Thanksgiving Weekend. DD8 just so happened to stumble on a highlights video on the Disney website. It showed Goofy tripping and falling at the end. Does Goofy appear in the princess ice show or is that from another ice show?

Older DD LOVES Goofy.

After the video she said I want to go to Disney on Ice. I just said "hmpf". They don't know yet that it's coming to our area and I hope they don't see any commercials and start begging! I'd rather it be a total surprise instead of something they think they talked us into.

Goofy will be there. It's been 2 years since the Princess Classics came through here so I don't remember the specifics. Usually Mickey and Minnie and friends come out at the beginning of all the Disney on Ice shows to start the show and also come out during the finale. They also will likely come out between different Princess sections and do a bit to lead into the next section. If he was on the preview tape, you can bet you will see him there.
