The last few times we were in Disney we took a cab to I-Drive and checked out a few places in that area. It's a good time, but a little bit of a hike from Disney property. With the exception of the stuff on the Boardwalk is there any decent nightlife in Disney? I thought I read a while ago they were going to focus on putting a few places back Downtown. Have there been any rumblings of new entertainment going in?

If STK Steakhouse at Disney Springs is like their other locations they have a DJ booth. I don't know if there's dancing, though.
Otherwise there's just Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance for non-park nightlife. My boyfriend and I usually just chill in one of the deluxe lounges. We really miss 8Traxx!

Downtown Disney has Splitsville, Bongos, House of Blues, Raglan Road, and Paradiso 37 - all in the West Side area. Splitsville has a really nice outdoor bar area. If you're looking for a club type atmosphere, none of these really fit the bill. But if you want a casual bar for some drinks, TV, music/band, etc then any of these should work.

Thanks for the replies. I am not looking for a club by any means. Those days are long over!! More than anything we are looking for decent live music. We used to go to Jellyrolls a lot, but the management changed and we decided to try something new. We have been to Howl At The Moon a number of times and enjoy it, but again, its a hike from Disney. We stayed at Universal last year and checked out Pat O'Briens which was nice, but a little too quiet. I am not necessarily looking for a piano bar, just some good live music.

Splitsville had a few guys with acoustic guitars at their outdoor bar last time we were there. We didn't stop to listen but it seemed pretty chill. I can't speak to the other acts that play there though. I know Raglan Road has live Irish music, and House of Blues has live music as well although you'd pay for an admission ticket or a cover charge depending on the act. I want to say Paradiso had a DJ. Not sure about Bongo's but seems like the place where they'd have Spanish/salsa type music. Really nice bar areas at Bongo's.

If you go to Splitsville Thursday evenings you'll listen to my sons band. Stereo FM. From 7:30pm to 11:30pm :) There's a lot of live music all around DTD. You can't go wrong with any of them, they are varied, from rock/pop cover bands to spanish guitarist (my favorite, don't tell my son) to classical music
