Yeah Nat Geo stuff is amazing. Excited for all of that.

As long as Rogue Squadron introduces Corran Horn, I’m good. Those were my favorite novels and he’s my #1 favorite character. I hope they’re able to include him.

I'm with you, but I really doubt Disney will use the book storylines. Rogue and Wraith were my favorites. All the characters seemed so real and it was the first time I remember there being lots of humor in SW books. Loved Stackpole until I started to read Allston, then he was my number 1. Even got a book signed by Allston and had the actor who played Janson (Ian Liston) sign a picture for me with the yub yub quote, and even better, he knew all about yub yub. Sigh. And I just googled and found out that Aaron Allston and Ian Liston have passed away. What a downer.

Didn't the new storyline already re-write the other surviving X wing pilot and it wasn't Tycho?

If Wes Janson isn't in it and isn't a wisecracking semi jerk, I will also be very sad. I also want the Fels.

While we're at it, now that we have Rogue Squadron I'm going to start heavily wishing for Wraith. Bunch of criminals and misfits flying X Wings and then going on spy missions?! With a Gamorrean and Kettch?!

i’m looking forward to it. I like Riri. Plus, not everything has to be to the liking of us older fans. This will probably be directed towards a younger crowd. That’s not a bad thing.

Oh, I don't have anything against her specifically, though the way she was introduced was pretty terrible. It's just that they are starting to scrape for concepts to translate, and I guess I think that as great as the ride has been, maybe less is more and they might want to let it end instead of water it down so much. I have concerns about this multiverse approach too. We'll just have to see I guess.

Excited for Rescue Rangers, Disenchanted, and Lin Manuel’s additions to Little Mermaid. Also intrigued by the Marvel stuff.

Feeling Very wait and see on the Star Wars stuff. Disney’s Star Wars content has been awesome when it hits and so bad when it doesn’t.

Actually that’s true of Lucas’s pre-Disney SW content too.

I’m still in shock that Black Widow is not only staying a theatrical release, but also keeping its date while FatWS is coming out before it. Only Raya going day and date, I appreciate the effort towards theatrical integrity from Disney

I think there was just a point where Marvel had to say screw it and put something out.

If they're dead set on theaters for Black Widow, but you can't start to air your TV shows until Black Widow airs because of storylines in Black Widow...something has to break.

But with WandaCision in Jan/Feb, Loki in May, they probably could have placed FatWS in June/July and worked out more fluidly. Such a minor thing to complain about since by July it won’t really matter in what order they were supposed to be in. Hell, BW is set in 2016/2017

Star is basically Hulu for the international market but it's going to be a 6th tile included in Disney+
It excludes the US since Hulu is available here. Is Hulu available in Canada?

Edit: Star is launching in Canada as part of the initial launch on 2/23/21
No, Hulu us not available in Canada so I’m still no further ahead about understanding this change.

Here’s a more detailed description from the D23 roundup, it's basically the type of content that's on Hulu which is geared towards older audiences and will include R rated content from 21st Century properties:

A New International Star in Streaming

Building on the successful launch of Disney+ Hotstar in India and Indonesia, Disney shared new details for its international general entertainment content brand, Star, which will be included as part of Disney+ in select international markets, and launch as a separate streaming service in Latin America as Star+. The Star brand will serve as home to thousands of hours of television and movies from Disney’s creative studios, including Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios, 20th Television, and more, enhanced by the addition of local programming from the regions where available.

Star will launch in Europe and several other international markets on February 23, 2021, as a fully integrated part of Disney+, with its own branded tile and a new collection of renowned general entertainment series, movies, documentaries and more that will double the content catalog available to Disney+ subscribers. Disney+ will be updated globally to offer enhanced parental controls enabling the family-friendly experience parents expect, including the ability to set limits on access to content for specific profiles based on content ratings and the ability to add a PIN to lock profiles with access to mature content. In Europe, the service will be priced at €8.99 per month or €89.99 per year, with a similar pricing adjustment in the other Star launch markets, including Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The streaming service will continue its global rollout, now with Star, in new markets beginning with Singapore on February 23, 2021, followed by Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea later in 2021.

In Latin America, to take advantage of the region’s portfolio of live sporting events, the company will launch Star+ as a standalone streaming service. Star+ brings together an unrivaled Star content collection, local original productions, and an array of live sports from ESPN, including top soccer leagues, grand slam tennis, and more. Star+ will launch in June 2021 as a stand-alone service for ~$7.50 per month (or the local equivalent), or as part of an attractively priced bundle with Disney+ for ~$9.00 per month (or the local equivalent).

I’m still digesting all the news. So much in such little time. More than D23. Speaking of which I wonder how this will compare with something like that going forward. If they continue these investor days does Disney split announcements between the two in those years or? I figure this is probably the most they’ll ever announce at one of these considering they are really building the Disney+ brand.

3 things I’m surprised we got no news om

1. Monsters at Work
2. Haunted Mansion
3. Shrunk

Haunted Mansion was a bit of a stretch, but I’m worried the other 2 may have been canned? Especially worried about Monsters at Work

1. I saw on Twitter that Monsters is supposedly still happening. I guess they just thought it wasn't worthy enough?
