Spent some time watching some old Disney programs with Ludwig Von Drake. They do spend some time advertising NBC and now Disney owns abc. Also can I say why is there No Classic Muppet show. It has to be because of the music rights.
Yea I am sure the older stuff isn't what brings in customers. Just cool to have it in the catalog. And I hope you are right that they slowly release older shorts and movies month by month. Although seeing upcoming releases it doesnt appear that anything from those decades is being released at least in the next few months. Not sure about one from those specific decades as they likely wouldn't bring people in, but a lot of stuff they have that could be added on is probably being held to be able to slowly keep adding more stuff to the service. If they had everything from day one people would pick it up and then drop it. if they continually add to it it keeps people invested in it. Older stuff could be added with other more popular items to bulk up the additions.
To me, the old stuff is far more interesting than the new stuff. The new stuff is quite easy to come by, not so much with the older shows. I think it would be interesting to see things that shaped my parents childhood and re-watch things I watched as a kid.Yea I am sure the older stuff isn't what brings in customers. I wonder if this is going to end up being like a modern/cartoon Dirty Dozen.

I hope there are clips from his musical Smile. It's a bit of a Broadway legend - the cast quit before they could even make a fully orchestrated soundtrack recording. But the music is excellent. And there's a song in it about dreaming to get to Disneyland! (It's called Disneyland and it's sung by Jodi Benson aka Ariel)
