How early would we need to arrive to be in the area you circled in red?
I can’t remember exactly what time, but our QS pick-up time was btwn 7:45-8. We carried our tray from Sleepy Hollow to the garden area after we got the food and ate in there. We didn’t fill in the walkway area in front of that gate (behind us in the pic) until 15-20min before it started. There was still room behind us after we filled in that space. The walkway in front of the garden fence was open because it was reserved for wheelchairs.
Edited to add- there was a CM standing at the entrance. We assumed it was reserved at first, but then asked. Don’t be afraid to ask because he told us it was not reserved and we could go in.

Food & Wine Festival is a bust. Lines are extremely long for the booths after park opening. There was only two items that I liked out of the entire world. Canada has a great soup and a decent three-cheese roll at France. I tried just about every other food item, and they were either OK or awful. The donut box failed big time.

I highly recommend skipping the festival. Lines are extremely long for booths (Canada was no wait, rest were 20-30 mins around 2-4pm). Food was not good overall

So sad I didn't check this garden area. 😔 We saw the other garden area blocked, and asked to be sure, and they said for VIP. I assumed the other one was blocked too.
We watched from our balcony, but not the same without the projections.
Hopefully we can snag a dessert party Sept 30th...
Good luck @cakebaker!

You tried almost 80 snacks and all but 2 were a bust?

I was watching some vlogs the last few days and they seemed happy with the food overall. We are still planning on eating at some of the booths. I’m not looking forward to the lines but that’s par for the course.

Tried around 30 I’m a reviewer for a blogging company. My other partner tried the other 30. There’s about 60.
I am legitimately impressed you can eat that much. I have a list of around 30 for my family of four and I am worried we won't get through them all even with sharing! Sorry you were disappointed, I've heard some good things from a lot of vloggers so I am hopeful we've got a good list going into it.

Whaaaa? It was crowded on opening weekend?? That's crazy!

As for bad vs. Good food, that's subjective. Sorry you and your blogging company didn't enjoy it. Others will....or won't.

Agreed, anyone complaining about long lines on OPENING WEEKEND of the festival needs to reevaluate. Add to it the Covid boost of people just wanting to get out and do something who probably would not be going to Disney right now.

Until school starts back up, and the country has gotten this "just got off lock down" and "I have disposable income from stimulus and child tax credits/I am not working" euphoria out of its system, just assume anything related to theme parks is going to be artificially overcrowded.

My guess, after Nov 1st all this goes back to normal, kids in school, summer is over, Stimulus and unemployment run out, 50th is done. I would caution anyone about going any time before Nov 1 if they can not tolerate crowds.

I just noticed Disney has the park hours up for Oct 1. If Magic Kingdom is really only open 9-9 that is absolutely disgraceful. This is a once in a lifetime event and the park will be packed. It deserves to be open until midnight. At least until 11. Really needs a 7 am opening too. I know they change hours all the time, but it seems to have been less common in the last year and a half, and with them only releasing them about 2 months out, you'd think they'd know they want to be open later that day.

It won't be. They have been regularly extending about 2 weeks before the start of each month, consistently every month. The hours will not be what they are listed as.

That's too bad that you couldn't find something that you liked other than the two items you mentioned. While there are some items on the menu that I won't (can't eat due to allergies) there are plenty of items I plan on trying out. I have three trips coming up to try out my choices and am really looking forward to it. I will be there this coming Friday to begin the tasting!!!!

I'll say that I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've tried. Most reviews I've seen have been positive.

Well, more snacks for me when I go in August! Also, I heard the beignet wasn’t very good so…🤷‍♀️

I’m really looking forward to Tangierine Cafe and the chilaquiles in Mexico. And I don’t care how delicious the beer cheese soup is I’m not eating it in August. Sorry Canada!

When Galaxy Edge opened HS was opening at 6:00 am....just saying there is a precedent for opening extra early for extra special events...
