I feel the same way. I was really hoping to hear something today.I have to say, my hopes about a FP announcement anytime soon is dwindling by the day. Blah.
I can't believe I'm agreeing with of all people Desantis but this has to end eventually...get back to work people! my company is STRUGGLING just to get people to interviewDeSantis decided that the state will cut off an extra $300 in weekly federal unemployment assistance starting June 26.
Fantasmic Won’t Return Until 2022
This is not an official announcement by Disney, but Blog Mickey seems to always be spot on.
BlogMickey.com sources have indicated that Fantasmic will not be opening in 2021, and that Disney still has quite a bit of work to do to the theater following more than a year of downtime. We’ve seen multiple permits for the Fantasmic amphitheater, and it is anticipated that some long-overdue work will start later this Fall and extend into 2022, reopening to guests when upgrades, retraining, and maybe even some show modifications have been completed. The Fantasmic lagoon has been drained since shortly after the Disney World theme parks closed last summer for COVID-19 and has not been refilled since then.
I'm contemplating making a park reservation (if available I haven't checked) for MK to see HEA one last time or if I should just watch it from the Contemporary viewing deck since we'll be staying there.I knew there would be a new show for the 50th, so not at all surprised. But dang, HEA is just so incredible, but I'm sure the new show will be amazing as well!!
But I could very well see the last HEA on 9/30 and the 1st showing of the new show on 10/1 since I will be there!! Then Harmonious on 10/2. That is very exciting for me.
Our next trip is in the september/October time frame but our first and only MK day is on October 1st. Trying to work out how to see HEA one more time...I'm contemplating making a park reservation (if available I haven't checked) for MK to see HEA one last time or if I should just watch it from the Contemporary viewing deck since we'll be staying there.
We were there June 10-17 and while I had read it was possible you would have to order your food early, it was never an issue for us either. At worst we couldn't get the "now" window and had to wait a half hour but I think that was only once for one restaurant. We never needed to do that (beginning of May). We had no issues deciding where to get QS and having food within 30 minutes.
This makes me happy. Not only because you got what you want, but for selfish reasons too. I check the boards periodically during the day - as my fear is they will change the ADR timeframe and I'll miss it. And we are going over Christmas. I have gone online at 5:00 am and looked at what was available 60 days out and am hopeful about getting what we want, that is already open. Still hoping for the return of characters and more dining choices opening up (HDDR, 1900 Park Fare are on my DDs wish list).
The worst is having to be ready at 3am PST to book ADRs. I'll do it to get those tough ADRs, but it gets tougher and tougher the older I get.![]()
I'm in Central time too and I'm an early riser so it works out for me too. 3:00 am would be hard for me!I guess I'm "lucky". It is 5:00 am my time, and I work 5:00 am - 2:00 pm. My 60 days is on a Friday, so I would already be at my desk with a cup of coffee when it opens.
That’s a bummer personally. That show really grew on me to the point it was my favorite. Last chance to see when we went in Dec ‘19 ended up rained out after we all were seated in the theatre. Little did I know how many trips it wouldn’t return. Mickey come back!

Same for us in the same time window--no issues with getting a dining window. The only people who appeared to have trouble with mobile ordering were those who simply didn't know how it worked (and there were a lot of them). We were there June 10-17 and while I had read it was possible you would have to order your food early, it was never an issue for us either. If you are a 2-top or a 4-top I'd agree. Large families or multi-gen trips with 6+...not so much. I've done a ton of these in the past decade and have had such crap luck (and I was on at 6) this year compared to years past. They definitely need to open up more restaurants and increase capacity, but...today was my 60 days to vaca mark and I had zero issues snagging a Be Our Guest reservation for 4 on day 60+1, and my sister had no issue getting a Sci Fi spot for 2 on her day 60+2. I got everything else I wanted as well, with the only 'fail' being my sister not getting Oga's on 60+2. So if you're staying on-site and are ready to go at 6am on your reservations date you should be mostly successful with ADRs.
Don't get me wrong, I know they need to build some momentum heading into the 50th (though I'm not sure they really do) and that they have lots of peoples' money for the next 2 months (including mine), but they really need to announce some restaurant reopenings/capacity increases for those next 2 months. I don't feel like ordering my lunch at 9am for 12pm pick-up in certain parks, and I'm seriously frustrated that it appeared many restaurants only had 1 table for 6 and it was open every hour and half, when my 60 days opened.
