Your digital TV could soon stop working.

Wherever these proposed changes end up I will wait to see what happens. I think sometimes they are used as a negotiating ploy by various companies when negotiating package deals. Not my problem until it actually takes place.

Has anyone notice issues with sound not matching the video? On my cable I have seen several shows lately where the person is talking but the sound doesn't seem synchronized. Somewhat like watching an old movie where they did a poor job dubbing in the sound from a foreign language.
Happens occasionally. Could be a lot of reasons though. If you have a second cable box, I'd see if it's doing it there at the same time.

I would imagine Allen Media Group, Cox Media Group and Hearst Media doing those said deals since they own stations where there’s a Disney property (WFTV serves WDW, WJCL serves Disney’s Hilton Head Island, WPBF serves Disney’s Vero Beach, and KITV serves Aulani).
Allen's having issues, not sure if they'd be able to spend the money.

Nexstar, Sinclair, Tribune, and Gray are other big owners.

Yeah, and they're not too happy with Disney at the moment. I do agree that some kind of dedicated Disney FAST channel wouldn't be a bad idea though, even if it only showed older stuff. It's not like they don't have the catalog!

No room for the new stuff? Not the Disney Channel I’d want to see… don’t want them to turn into CantToon NotWork and spam nothing but old cartoons… including the newer stuff is needed too.

I find myself listening to regular radio more and more instead of being harassed on streaming & figure I'm about one annoyance away from jumping ship to an antennae and old school TV - "Sick of this garbage 2025"

Well, they will want to monetize the newest stuff, as long as Disney Channel is still viable and profitable, I think the newest stuff would be there. But, older stuff, it could just a few years old really.

Well, yes and no.

1.0 allows for 19.39Mb. Most stations are providing 3-4 (we have one here doing 8!) "sub channels" Each channel has it's own dedicated bandwidth. Most stations started ATSC 1.0 with just one, maybe two channels. As encoding got better, they were able to add more and more channels to their stream.

3.0 allows for 57Mb! So yes, they will be able to put more "subchannels" on OR allow more bandwidth for each channel (if you're watching OTA 1.0 for things like the Superbowl or AGT, or something that has a lot of motion/confetti, you'll see macroblocking... that's because that individual channel is "bit starved"... not enough of a pipe to fit all of the data).

Eliminating 1.0 will NOT give a station more bandwidth. It will just "turn off".

1.0 & 3.0 signals each take up ~6Mhz of broadcast space.

I've seen quite a few subchannels that are broadcast in standard def. Often showing really old programming that won't benefit from the highest resolution. I suppose that's used in order to save bandwidth.

Man, a could of the subchannel's I found aren't even that! There was one showing old sitcoms and they looked like someone taped them on VHS in the 80's! It's not even close to DVD quality. It's rough too becuase I'd probably watch it since they show my all-tiem fave NewsRadio.
