The typical Walt Disney Company Cast Member salary is $12 according to Glassdoor. $600/wk equals $15/hr for 40 hours.

Which says more about Disney’s crap wages than anything else.

Having said that, I’m pretty sure a lot of Disney employees are getting more than that, even to start. I think it actually had been $14 minimum to start and will be $15 minimum starting in the fall if I heard correctly. But Universal just boosted their minimum $15 so if Disney hasn’t yet they will be.

Are you able to customize a mobile order? My son likes the pulled pork mac and cheese at Flame Tree, but he doesn’t like the cole slaw on it. Can I customize in the app that he wants it without the cole slaw?
I can't remember that specific one, but there are some you are able to customize. You can go on the app and play around with ordering to see what options are available.

I can’t say specifically to that but all the mobile orders we did a few months ago had the option to either leave off or put most ingredients on the side. Like Satuli Canteen, the slaw and boba pearls etc all had the options, and the were put on the side individually in little cups.

Thank you, that is helpful!

Even if it is holding people back, is that bad? Are we comfortable forcing people to take poverty wages when its that or starve? Especially when their other options might be providing a stable home for their children or going to school to enter a more profitable field?

I never said it was bad and I'm all for a living wage. I grew up below the poverty line. I'm no stranger to the struggle.

To bring it back to Disney, this will get better with the massive college program hirings. But I do think a good chunk of their regular employees have moved on to new careers for a number reasons. The pandemic has shown people a whole new world.

ETA: I know a few people who were laid off from various jobs that went back to school while out of work and starting entirely new careers.

Looks like a lot of us are contemplating the 30th switch. I just moved a park reservation to MK the 30th.
I forgot I changed our flights so we land before noon too. :)

I tell you what, changing park reservations around Oct 1, always makes me so nervous I will accidentally cancel Oct 1. :scared:

Now, if they'd announce the return of dessert parties for my July stop at WDW, I could catch HEA then without the :crowded:...
How do you switch the reservations? I have tried cancelling first but I get an error message

There are options to customize. I don't know if there is for that specific item but there should be.

Yup. So many people have moved onto new careers. Also no one wants to take into account the childcare issue. You can't work if your kids aren't in school or daycares are closed or summer camps are virtual. Let's not forget those that are/were afraid to give up their unemployment benefits to return to work to possibly be shutdown again and then have to reapply alllll over again and wait how many months for the benefits to restart.

Extra unemployment may be holding some people back but it's not the majority IMO.
Also, some ppl may have realized how much better things work for them being able to be home with their kids. I work for a school district & usually work for extra $ in the summer with the district while DS goes to camp. But this year I didn’t work b/c being home with him is so nice & better for him.

You can customize mobile orders to a certain extent. I’m this case you can decline cole slaw or ask for it to be on the side.

Generally I found mobile order customizations to be pretty good. Once in a while though, you will run into a side or a sauce that isn't listed and can't be customized.

Yes it is very easy to pick what you want and not and can see it before you order because it is your eyes I thought it worked better.

So I may be in the minority but we've really enjoyed mobile ordering and not having to wait in long lines to order and stand around while they make it. We haven't had any issues being able to mobile order and choose a place shortly before were ready! We have her to order dinner at 9 am!
Also I would be fine with no fast passes. We're here currently and went over new years and both times, waits have been low, we've been able to do everything we want with little stress!
Also there have been TONS of people training this week we've noticed! And we also noticed that restaurants seem to be moving more quickly and we aren't having to wait for our reservation times as much because our tables are ready early!

Mostly, yes. I found that I couldn’t customize a burger at the Pop food court, but I could anywhere else. You can check it out from home so you’re prepared on whether you need to order in person (which they are supposed to let you do if you have a food issue that can’t be done on the app) or can go ahead and mobile order exactly what you want.

Totally in the same boat and got the coleslaw on the side when I ordered it through mobile order, just for reference in MDE it looks like this for that item:
