Other than the closed resort bit, those things have always been true and Disney always sold APs

But they weren’t short on staffing with an entire country desperate to go somewhere. The hard truth is, doesn’t need AP sales. Things have changed and Disney is going to capitalize on it for as long as they can.

Maybe they should restrict it to out-of-state people at first. That would be fine with me.

I actually have a voucher I’m not activating on our trip this month. With conditions as they are, I don’t look to be going back enough to make use of it this next year. Locals would have a fit if they limited sales to them. There’s a lot less grumbling if no one can get them.

i understood that but the parties have been oversold for years with horrible crowds - lots of complaints flood in every year and yet they still had them. People rave about them. So while they’ll get the complaints, they’ll still have enough willing to buy that it won’t matter.

Yeah I think it’s fair to say they needed to reset the parties into something more manageable crowd wise. It’s also a strategy they’re taking with EMH, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s how they approach fast pass as well

From the looks of all of the announcements on July refurbs they think our money isn't as valuable. Summer 2021 is the summer of the sucker in Chapek's eyes.

Is the CEO of the company involved in the schedule planning of specific theme parks?

I think that it’s nice that they’re spending money to keep things up.

I now have 2 spreadsheets for our upcoming November trip - Version #1, and Version #2 depending on what park has Extra Evening hours when we arrive on Nov. 10th..

but the planner in me wants more information! I'm not very patient and NOT a good guesser at what may happen!



and I guess, if I wanted to see more of the Christmas decorations at night, my perfect plan would be to have Extra Hours at a non-MK park on Nov. 10th and then the new Merriest Party on the 11 or 12th....

Lol I feel ya on the planning. It’s been hard for trips this year. I think the EMH situation helps sell hoppers.

Oh wow this is me. I have 3 versions and they all depend on what is going on with Fast Pass and EMH.
Honestly for us buying the after hours Christmas tickets is one less night i have to shell out for Deluxe.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well! We are finally home from our extended vacation, and already, I want to go back to Disney! It never feels like enough time! Thank you so much to @HokieRaven5 and @Heather07438 for their help and for the fantastic job they did keeping up with the thread and posting the daily news! I truly appreciate it! I’ve seen others helping along the way, too, so I’m grateful to everyone for chipping in. Thank you!! ❤
I’d like to actually ask all of you if you’d please continue to chip in with posting news updates, as my time on here will be very limited this summer. We just got back late last night and we leave again Thursday morning! This is my schedule pretty much every week the next couple of months for me - on top everything else my kids have going on… you know, that other stuff we have do outside of the Dis I miss you guys lots, but unfortunately I just cannot give 100% to the thread at this time. There’s been some great news so far, and I’m hoping for a lot more wonderful news in the upcoming weeks! And most of all, I hope all of your wish lists get fulfilled! I’m sorry guys. Thanks for understanding!

Im expecting to go to 2 night events - one Extra Hours and 1 Merriest Party and then the next day we'll do Epcot so we can sleep in a little...

but maybe I just need to do it ALL and sleep when I get home??!!

I agree! For planners like us vacations depend on this or that. We are trying to get Universal holiday
celebrations in also. You know how they say "release the kraken"?

Release the dates! Release more info on deluxe evening hours! Release info on FP!
And more importantly...Release the prices!

Yes. Character dining is getting kinda silly without it. We are here & it really is ridiculous. The characters have on more protection than anyone. It’s just silly. We decided no more character dining until they can interact with the characters again.

YES! True character dining is the one thing that I am waiting on the most. I cannot see paying character dining prices to wave at them from a distance - I need my Mickey hugs!
I also know that the people I am visiting with this fall/winter will not wait in a line to meet a character, so dining is our only chance.

I will overdramatize it until the very end . It isn't Christmas at Disney without the lights on the castle! I feel like it has been so long since we have been able to see the castle in all of its full holiday magical glory. Such a shame. That is Cindy's castle at it's absolute best IMO!

So much of Disney is the atmosphere, especially for frequent visitors. Such a bummer. The holiday lights are a special kind of magic.

If I can be honest and knowing that I'm 100% in the minority... The way it looks in the daytime isn't worth how it looks at night seeing the mesh/cables running all over the castle. Same situation as Harmonius Barges imo.

I have so much up in the air for my mid-October trip.

1. I need to know about Yachtsman, Flying Fish, and Boma. They need to open!
2. I need to know when the Extra Hours are in the evening and for which parks. As soon as I know, I can finalize my park plans.
3. Fast Passes! What’s up? Give us info!
4. Park hours. Will Epcot be sticking with the 11am opening? Will AK be open later so I can see Pandora and the Tree at night? I need to know!
