If I can be honest and knowing that I'm 100% in the minority... The way it looks in the daytime isn't worth how it looks at night seeing the mesh/cables running all over the castle. Same situation as Harmonius Barges imo.

I agree actually. I've never understood the love for the string lights like that, especially now that they can use projection mapping to dazzle up the castle.

I agree! For planners like us vacations depend on this or that. We are trying to get Universal holiday
celebrations in also. You know how they say "release the kraken"?

Release the dates! Release more info on deluxe evening hours! Release info on FP!
And more importantly...Release the prices!

I do hate not knowing calendar information this far out. We are in a deluxe, so what nights could we get EMH? I would buy a party ticket, but with my luck it would be the same night AK offers an evening EMH. And that is priority for my DDs - to see Pandora lit up.

I liked the park reservation system at first. Seemed beneficial over Christmas that you could leave and come back without worrying about being bumped out due to capacity . . .but now. . . .not knowing the hours, a lot harder to try to plan which park on what days, without more information.

The Universal part was certainly easier.

Yeah I think it’s fair to say they needed to reset the parties into something more manageable crowd wise. It’s also a strategy they’re taking with EMH, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s how they approach fast pass as well

I’m actually good with all of that. We quit the parties years ago because of crowding. I wouldn’t pay for the after hours parties because 1) I was around for the villains parties and they were too crowded to be a true after hours and 2) The price is too high for what they’re offering to me. But, it’s no loss since we quit them anyway. We stay on site and I love the new emh offer. We had quit those too due to crowds. Lastly, I would much prefer FP+ as it was, reducing the demand by stopping it to off site resorts, but I’ll live with a paid system and that sure looks like what we’re going to get.

What I want is a return of offerings there’s no excuse not to have - shows, parades, standard after hours and for the love of God, give us FP+ back or extend the park hours!

I personally don't think extended hours will be coming. With the after hours events and EMH coming, I think most evenings will be saved for them.

As far as FP goes, the longer they wait to announce something makes me think they are waiting for the new system to be in place.

Totally agree. The castle is beautiful at all times now. I love what they have done with it. Projections are great and the new lighting down Main Street will tie in great. Looking forward to seeing it in December.

Now that I have had time to process the excitement of a Christmas after hours event it just hit me...

NO CASTLE DREAM LIGHTS?!?!?!?! I know we have the special 50th stuff but like, not the same.

Disney... WHAT DID I DO TO YOU!?! WHY DO YOU NOT WANT ME TO HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS?!

I need an AP announcement to soften this blow.

Disneyland's first reopening xmas will be this year and I'm so worried for the fate of our castle lights! I will be rolling around right there with you if this happens to us too!

They barely said a word for what we're getting aside from Haunted Mansion Holiday (all I need really.. ❤) so I'll just continue to pace in worry. We also get the huge Christmas light overlay on it's a small world and if they tried to replace that with projections Chapek better expect me waving my fist on his doorstep.

They aren't nearly as impressive as Cindy's lights so I just don't care as much.

But Small World Holiday? I'd be right there with you on Chapek's doorstep. I'll bring the pitchforks.

Me too! We always go to a lot of the character meals but like the late breakfast better. Crystal Palace has been a tradition for our last day since we started going in 2004. Will not step foot in there again until it's back.

It's our first night tradition. Even though this will be our first adult-only trip, we were to hoping to keep the tradition.

Hopefully, it will be back for both of us. DD and I have been 4 times since the park reopened and have a few more trips planned for this year. We really are missing the character meals. They just aren't the same the way the are at the moment.

Reopen my TOTWL so I can enjoy watching the special party fireworks from the comfort of my resort in December. I am staunchly anti-add-on with these parties.
