We were looking forward to Trail end breakfast as a buffet.. The skillet looks good buuuuuuuuuuut can we get a second skillet just filled with bacon??????

Ok, we aren't that bad......but on vacation, I 'd say 4 or 5 slices is about normal.

Alright, anyone think we will get any news today? FP? F&W menus? Any more shows, restaurants, hotels reopening? Or is this it for the summer, and nothing else is coming back before Oct 1?

The only one I care about is FP+ and I don't expect we'll hear a word on that or shows. Apparently all they're going to do is keep ramping up to add more people to the parks and nothing to control the crowds so wouldn't be surprised to learn of more resorts and restaurants opening.

Same. All I want is to hear about FP+.

This is my concern. We have a mid July trip, I worry a bit more each day about the crowds….more people without a lot more to do.

I'm still hoping for more character meals returning. And HDDR.

This is only my personal opinion and I’m not looking for a fight or nasty responses but it seems to me that if Disney is going to offer “exclusive extra evening hours” to those guests at Deluxe Resorts then the Extra Morning “moments” should be available only to those staying at Disney Resorts and not be available to “Good Neighbor Resorts”...surely there should be some kind of perk for those guests paying to stay on site. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I tend to agree. Pre-COVID it was starting to look like good-neighbor hotels were getting just as good perks.

Disney is free to add whatever perks they think are neccessary to fill their resorts. Clearly, they'd like to fill their most expensive ones. So they're adding incentives. It's not unlike any other business that gives more incentives to get people to spend more. The fact is, no matter what perks the deluxe have in comparison to the values- they in no way justify the price tag. They have to add more. With values and moderates, even though they are priced higher than comparable off site hotels, they are still affordable for more people. There's no need to offer them any more incentive than the extra half hour a day at a select park. Bottom line, spend more, get more. I've always thought emh's and FP should be based on the level of resort you stay at.

I believe Universal does the same thing with their access passes- they're included with their more expensive resorts.
Right. And I agree with you. BUT…This is another example of Disney giving a perk that actually used to be included for all onsite guests. So they aren’t really giving anything new to the deluxe guess, they’re just taking it away from others making it look like a new perk for some. It’s happening again and again all around the parks.

Edit- sorry to have brought this up again. Have been away for a couple days and just caught up to see the plea to move on…

Nah, the argument is still going strong. lol My answer to that is I don't agree it's the same old perk. The difference between allowing just Deluxe/DVC should make it a much better perk. At the expense of moderates and values, no doubt about it, but vastly improved regardless. And we aren't sure exactly how it's going to work. How long will they be? How often? Which parks? It's yet to be determined just how valuable the perk is.

And yes, it's irritating to see perks go away. EMH's used to be longer. Parking use to be free. It was beyond irritating when they added good neighbor hotels to EMH's. There's a long list. Everyone just has to decide what their breaking point is. It's rare I benefit from any change they make, this just happens to be one of those times.

I don't disagree with this one at all. Perks should be extended only to resort guests. There are few enough of them as it is. I'm betting the good neighbors are paying for that little benefit.

So what "perks" do onsite guests have currently?

Transportation?
Location (in some cases)?

No package delivery
No dining plans
No FP advantage
No EMH

Surely I am missing more, right?

You don’t have to be a guest to use Disney transportation so while it is a perk it’s available to anyone. I remember before my first trip I thought the monorail was for the monorail resort guests only. Imagine if Disney decided to do that.

Dining plans were never a perk, but yes, all the others are currently gone. As far as I'm concerned there are no perks to staying at any on site resort right now outside of some resorts provide the transportion we want. Our next stay are Fort Wilderness cabins, strictly because of the access to the MK by boat and the lack of availability for anything any better for a cheaper price.

I don't think we'd ever stay off site, but it is not out of the realm of possibility that we won't go back if things don't return to a more normal state and they add more perks. This trip is a one off just to see HEA one more time. We're doing it for as little money as possible.

Not a free perk but you had to be staying on site to be able to get a dining plan (and it was "free" sometimes)

I also want to add that boats are still not running to Disney Springs, and Epcot monorail is mia, so not all transportation is up an running yet.

They might not as there should be less waste. Less waste = less money going in the bin as in they can adjust stock levels if there is less waste. Bob will be rubbing his hands together.
Ah, but they charge more for buffets, especially the character ones.
