We only did Fantasia once, and it was so many years ago, that I barely remember it. However, I love anything Christmas themed, so it's hard for me to recommend anything other than Winter Summerland! The theming is so cute. You can either choose the Summer course (sandy and beachy), or the Winter course (snowy and icy). In the past, I think they may have given a discount if you chose both. There are cute notes at each hole that guide you along and give you tips for playing. It's definitely worth a visit!

Thanks for sharing your pictures! It looks so cute! We've never been to any of the golf courses, but since we will be there for 14 days this summer, we thought it would be a great time to visit one of them.

Thanks so much !!!

Exactly. It seems eve

Exactly! Almost everything, especially dining, is a lesser version of what it was. There are several places that were favorites that are off the table for us now. These family style meals are not for us.
In some places we thought it was an improvement. Chef Mickeys was phenomenal. Way better than it ever was as a buffet.

We went to CMs back in August when it had newly open with no characters. You’re right about that one. The food was good and the price reasonable.

I wonder if these new versions of meals are here to stay are only temporary due to covid. Unfortunately, I think they may be here to stay.
I really hope they are temporary too. My main issues is with buffet places now turned family style. Buffets are nice so the family has variety and picky eaters find their favorites. I understand the need for family style right now but the options seem of lesser quality and those with characters seem pricy.

Cape May, Tusker House, and Ohana specifically look disappointing. We still have a few favorites so we will stick with those for now. Hopefully things will improve over time.

Family style is also a problem for solo diners. I’d go, except that’s a lot of food going to waste (also, I’m picky, so it’s extra wasteful)

I JUST got out of Tusker House for dinner, and it was AMAZING. The food was so much hotter and fresher than any time when it was a buffet. This personally has been my experience at all of the buffet turned family style meals (chef mickey's and garden grill have been so much better). We are a family of four though, so I understand how it might not be ideal for smaller parties. But I actually had said to my husband after dinner tonight that I hope some of these family style meals are here to stay.

Garden Grill was family style before the pandemic. And it indeed fantastic back then too!

We ate dinner at Cape May about ten days ago, and it was probably the worst meal I have ever had on Disney property. Seafood was chewy, bland, and lukewarm (being generous). Rolls were borderline stale, or maybe they had been under a heat lamp for too long. Strip loin may be false advertising as it looked and tasted more like the old Steak-Ums (dating myself). There was just so much no on the table in front of us. Cape May is one of our favorites, and I can’t tell you how truly disappointed we were.

I think buffets will be back, but who knows when. They can charge more for buffets, so I have no doubt they will return. The problem right now is two fold. First, there is the Covid concern, though that should be changing soon. Second, they have to be able to provide enough variety on the buffet and, currently, there are food shortages and price hikes for some items. This effects the profitability of the buffet. Offering smaller, family style meals is a simple solution to that problem in the short term. Unfortunately, it isn’t an option that everyone likes.

They might not as there should be less waste. Less waste = less money going in the bin as in they can adjust stock levels if there is less waste. Bob will be rubbing his hands together.

I've done both, they're a lot of fun. Fantasia is a little more challenging, and a little less kitschy as Mini Golf courses go. To me a bit kitschy is a good thing for Mini Golf, LOL!

As someone who often goes solo, I completely agree.

I'm worried that they are going to turn Boma into Family Style, and if that's the case I'll be skipping it in December. I have visions of them watering down the choices to standard stuff, instead of the wonderful array of different choices they have.
