Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

Not cool. She should've been trespassed. I'm posting this link because people may think this is appropriate. It is against the rules.

Yeah, that's definitely a bad move? When did she do this - recently? Anyway, I am surprised at her. As someone with Disney Legend status she could have talked to someone about honoring her mother. They wouldn't allow the spreading of ashes of course, but I am sure they could have figured out a little something to do for her Disneyland-loving mom, a small pre-opening ceremony or something.

I didn't read a firm date. My understanding is that it was around 2010. She admits that it was wrong. But, what is even more important than self-reflection is refraining from breaking the rules in the first place and just doing the right thing.

This is a great reminder for all you nasty people that like to dip your hands in the water on Pirates, IASW, NRJ, etc. Not only do you risk crushing your hand on the ride, but that nice smelling water also has human remains and God knows what else in it.
You need to understand exactly what remains after cremation. Almost all the ashes are from the coffin. The human body is over 80% water, so it all evaporates. There may be a little bit of enamel from teeth, but not much. In other words, there is less nasty stuff than in a kids left over overs from roasting marshmallows- LOL.

True. I think it's more psychologically gross than anything. Human remains, in whatever form, seem crrepy.

Explore New Model Rooms at Disney Springs' 'Gateway to Discovery' DVC Welcome Center

The Disney 'Gateway to Discovery' Welcome Center at Disney Springs has opened its second-floor model rooms.

You can tour a one-bedroom villa and deluxe studio model room of Disney's Riviera Resort, take in an elevated view of Disney Springs from the balcony, and enjoy light refreshments.

The Disney Vacation Club welcome center opened its first-floor area in the Town Center at Disney Springs in May 2024.

'Gateway to Discovery' took over the former Alex and Ani space near the Guest Relations building and showcases DVC's offerings worldwide.

Like the DVC kiosks found in the parks, the Disney Springs location includes interactive video kiosks, models of DVC properties, and a Mickey Mouse photo op.

Perhaps I've been missing it, but I have not seen these interactive video kiosks at the DVC kiosks in the parks. Also, not aware of a photo op with Mickey there.

As do oceans, lakes, rivers, streams. At least POC water is chlorinated. Just sayin'...

Worldwide Microsoft outage also an issue at Disneyland Paris

CMs have to manually check tickets as the turnstiles don't work, the signs with the show & wait times are down. Characters are meeting outside as normal and also the day parade did go out this morning.

Any reports of the outage impacting WDW? I arrive later today and I am hoping there are no issues getting checked in

It wasn’t great. Flew to London. Was supposed to leave at 6pm but delayed until 8:30. Made it to London ok. The checkins were a little messy and regular security was super slow. Our airport wasn’t affected though.
