Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

It sounds like you're upset that they're planning to replace an attraction you like, which is fine, but you did the same thing after they announced that Tiana was replacing Splash Mountain.

There is one problem with that though: he doesn't want this change (Indiana Jones replacing Dinosaur), he wants them to put Indy somewhere else and keep Dinosaur. That's what's driving this.
It's not really that, but more about that it would be absurd for Disney to kick dinosaurs out of Animal Kingdom (especially just because of Universal), plus their plan for a South America land, which should be a larger, totally new land with an animal trail, enclosures, a Brazilian steakhouse, a boat safari ride with live animals, and the Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions (plus a Yzma's Lab attraction) instead of what they came up with. I would even prefer Tropical Americas replacing Dinoland, but keeping Dinosaur and The Boneyard, since there have been discoveries of dinosaur fossils in South America.

Even Brayden/Mickey Views has seen what @Obi-J Kenobi discovered and knows the problem that’s going to occur.

To be fair, I'm over my upset over Splash Mountain going away. It's just that, after seeing the reactions, I can tell people are disappointed with the retheme.

My point stands though. If they had a bit more of a positive outlook of some of the changes and maybe thought that they could possibly like it even a bit then maybe the changes, whatever they are wouldn't seem so bad. Sometimes not liking or wanting something is all a frame of mind. Sam I Am turned out to like green eggs and ham once he gave them a chance.

Some things don’t warrant a positive outlook.

FYI. Booking for the MNSSHP Dessert Parties is still a fluid situation. The booking date has currently been pushed back to Friday. Assuming these parties fall under Enchanting Extras policies, all dates would generally be available to book upon opening (versus Dining policies for 60+10). The difference in policies is here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/reservation-window/advance-reservations/.

If bookings are available online, they should open up shortly before 6am. Otherwise, phone reservations generally begin at 7am.

If anyone attempts to book tomorrow (to confirm the date has changed) or Friday, please let us know how it goes!

VIDEO: ‘Dreams That Soar’ Drone Falls From Sky Into Water at Disney Springs

TikTok user @crispy_bacon04 shared the following clip with the falling drone. It happened when the drones were arranged like the Death Star from “Star Wars.”

The video zooms in on the drone, which falls from the bottom of the formation and into the water. It’s still lit and seems to be falling slowly like it’s trying to stay up.

Not to uncommon for a show that size. That's why they don't do these shows over people.

I've been reading through some of the discussion here. I have a hard time getting excited for changes at Disney nowadays mostly because I know whatever they announce is almost always not going to be the final product. Imagineering comes up with one thing but the higher ups say no and cut the budget. It always happens. It seems that's what happened on Tiana's as well. So much unused space. The tropical americas thing excites me because my family is from South America and I would love to see the animals and nature from there represented, but it looks to me it's more about attractions and not really any animals. I would love a boat ride with real animals as mentioned above. The original blue sky idea with Moana and Zootopia showed a log flume type ride with a drop. I think that would be awesome. The concept art doesn't look like authentic south america to me. It looks like a movie scene, and I get IP has to be everywhere now unfortunately but why even bother at this point. Just call it Encanto land and be done.

It never even struck me that they were just re-theming Dinoland. I thought they were going to demolish most of it and build new.

Edited to add, IP can be done very well. Pandora is a great example. Fully avatar themed but it still tells the conservation story of the park.

Haven't seen any discussion of it on here yet, but DL is cutting their entertainment pretty significantly due to the unionization of their actors and performers. The Club Pixar event ended 2 months before it was scheduled to, Dr. Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts is being cut as well. That's just what I've heard so far, but it's possible more could be on the way.

I think it's really sad to see Disney make that decision. One of the key factors that keeps me going to DL as a Floridian is that the character interactions are so much better out there.

maybe they will offer more this year.
I would hope so. I would like it to be somewhat equivalent to MVMCP at least in the amount of offerings, otherwise I'll stick with MK. The Muppets are big draw for us, but that alone wouldn't be enough. I imagine they'll revamp the event somewhat after having more experience conducting it last year.
