Yeah, but in some cases, they are barely different takes at all. Other than visually, the stories are exactly the same. They sometimes add a little backstory, though that can be both good and bad. Personally, I prefer the ones that really deviate and do give us somethign different. Also, it's one thing to revisit an older movie that is maybe fine, but not truly great, and another to remake a stone cold masterpeice like Beauty and the Beast (and to a lesser extent The Little Mermaid). It's like remaking Citizen Kane or Casablanca!
Might as well do a live action Toy Story or Wreck-it Ralph....
I get redoing the classic films 20's - 50's, as even the kids aren't too keen on watching those now. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella were clearly made in a different age. And maybe the animated films of the 60's and 90's could do with a retelling in a higher quality?? But Tangled, Frozen, Zootopia, Moana, Encanto or any of the Pixar movies... just don't see the point.
Make a Moana 2 using live action... something original.
