The Walt Disney Birthplace & YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago Celebrate “Walt Disney Day” in honor of Walt Disney’s 121st Birthday

“Walt Disney Day” will be held at 2156 N. Tripp Avenue at the restored childhood home of Walt Disney, located in the Hermosa neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Beginning at 5:30 P.M. (CST), on Monday, December 5, guests will join in singing “Happy Birthday” to Walt during a candle-lighting ceremony followed by a concert of holiday songs sung by the school children from Nixon Elementary. Afterward, guests will be invited to enjoy a selection of festive holiday treats. The event is free to the public.

Shanghai Disneyland Closing AGAIN on November 29

Shanghai Disneyland had just reopened on November 25th after having been closed due to COVID-19 since October 31.

Just saw a cast member putting a bunch of them out in the Emporium.

I wish they would put them back online. DS has asked Santa for it so I MUST get it! I was just there last week & in Oct, but they were online so I figured why try to hide it from him on the way home. Ugh!

Disney Cruise Line Casting Call Searching for Look-alike Performers to Portray Thor and Doctor Strange

This week Disney Auditions put out a casting call for look-alike performers to portray Doctor Strange and Thor for staged events, immersive meet & greet, productions, and surprise happenings.

• Doctor Strange: As seen in the Marvel cinematic universe. Seeking performer with appropriate look, and vocal quality. 6’0”-6’2”.
• Thor: As seen in the Marvel cinematic universe. Seeking performer with appropriate look, and vocal quality. 6’0”-6’3”.

According to the casting notice, submissions accepted through December 9th, 2022 by 5pm EST.

Disney World Removes Mention of Courtesy Parking Lot Trams From Website as Deadline for Announced Return Looms

Disney World has removed mention of its courtesy parking lot trams from its website as the deadline to bring back trams to make good on an earlier promise looms. Disney World has previously said that they will bring back parking lot trams to all four Walt Disney World theme parks in 2022, but so far they’ve only brought back trams to Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Parking lot tram service for EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios remains suspended as Disney struggles with staffing and “meaningful efficiencies” (budget constraints). A message on the Disney World website previously read:

Courtesy trams have returned to Magic Kingdom park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park-and they’ll return to other Walt Disney World theme parks throughout 2022. Where available, this convenient mode of transportation will whisk Guests from the theme park’s parking lot to its Main Entrance and back.

It’s unclear if the removal from the website was intentional and Disney World no longer plans on bringing back parking lot trams to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios this year, or if it was removed in error.

I just saw them moving these trams but couldn’t figure out where they were going … yesterday morn .
I have very little faith in Disney anymore .

Disney World Cast Member unions to begin week of negotiations

Bargaining sessions are scheduled for November 29 and December 1, with wage increases, healthcare costs, and retirement top of the agenda.

The existing contract being negotiated expired on October 1, 2022, with both the union and Disney agreeing to extend the agreement while negotiations continued.

Good luck to all castmembers during this unprecedented time … they deserve superior Thank You from Disney executives and from all guests.

Disney World to Begin Installing Amazon Alexa Service in Some Hotel Rooms

Disney is going to start installing Hey Disney! in select hotel rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!

Moana-Themed Rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Resort
Guests at the resort received this letter saying that “Cast Members may be entering your Guest Room for a short period of time between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm to install ‘Hey Disney!'”.


Disney announced that Hey Disney! would be available by the end of 2022 in Disney World and Disneyland, and we even got a sneak peek of how it will work. It brings the same features as Alexa like setting timers and alarms or checking the weather, but with a fun Disney twist! You’ll get to hear the voices of popular characters like Olaf, Mickey, C-3PO, and more.

Also includes complimentary tracking service … to start your day.
Hope it can be turned off included in the instructions.
