Walt Disney World Railroad Track Installation Nearly Complete at Magic Kingdom

After staging the last stretch of Walt Disney World Railroad track near the Storybook Circus station, crews are now installing the last bit of track to complete the full loop at Magic Kingdom for the first time in years.

Good, then they can start running the train again in early December when I'm there!

NEW Menu Items Announced for City Works in Disney Springs

City Works Eatery & Pour House has announced that they’ll be rolling out new menu additions starting on November 15th.

Here’s what City Works has announced:

• Ahi Tuna BLT — Made with Togarashi-spiced seared rare tuna, hardwood smoked bacon, arugula, vine-ripened tomato, sriracha garlic aioli, and served on challah bread.
• — Beer battered shrimp, Asian slaw, chili aioli, sriracha, sesame seeds, and micro cilantro, served with a white corn tortilla.
• Creole Chicken — Grilled, marinated French cut chicken breast, steamed white rice, andouille sausage, corn succotash, creole butter, chili oil, and scallions.

And as an added bonus, the refreshed menu will have a Smoked section, where you can choose from a selection of smoked meats that are paired with various side dishes.

Fate of Reedy Creek Improvement District Reportedly to Be Decided Soon, Per Experts

According to a new report by the Orlando Business Journal, the fate of the now-famous Reedy Creek Improvement District is set to be decided sometime soon.

According to OBJ, the specific fate of the special district repealed over six months ago will be decided during a special legislative session following the midterm elections on November 8.

David Ramba, executive director with the Florida Association of Special Districts, told them discussions about the fate of the district are underway in Tallahassee despite both the Reedy Creek staff and the public being in the dark about the issue.

These are the three possible options laid out by Ramba to the Orlando Business Journal:

• The state doesn’t necessarily have to honor the June 2023 dissolution date, as that can be delayed easily with a vote to buy the discussions another year, if need be.
• The state could simply amend certain powers of the Reedy Creek district — such as its ability to build a nuclear power plant — and forgo the dissolution plan.
• Another approach could be lengthy. If the state — or local governments, if the duty was passed to them — tried to change the wording in the district’s charter or completely replace it, that would require a 30-day public notice, discussions and approvals by delegations in the affected counties — Orange and Osceola counties — and other processes needed before a vote were allowed, which could drag out a solution.

I don't think anyone really wants it to happen. The costs to local governments would likly far exceed the revenues generated. But there is a lot of worry over the unknowns. The main power provider was worried about the district's ability to pay it's debts following dissolution next year so Reedy Creek had to set up a "safety net" for Duke via one of the Banks. Basically a trust to cover the first quarter of next year... $3 Million.

Yeah there’s a couple blogs listing it that way too… I changed the last one to be creole chicken and the shrimp one reads more like a taco…

this is a head scratcher. With inflation going up, interest rates going up, unemployment going up, demand for luxuries like this should be going down. Increasing the price will only drive demand down further.

this is a head scratcher. With inflation going up, interest rates going up, unemployment going up, demand for luxuries like this should be going down. Increasing the price will only drive demand down further.

New Sumatran Tiger Added to Maharajah Jungle Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom



Dr. Mark Penning has shared that a new Sumatran tiger has joined the Maharajah Jungle Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Conrad the tiger comes from a recommendation by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan. Sumatran tigers are listed as critically endangered by the World Wildlife Fund with an estimated population of fewer than 400 tigers worldwide.

Maybe it's just in my industry then. I just seem to hear about lots of layoffs. I'll admit that I had no facts handy when I wrote that comment.
