Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2022 Edition

The young Avengers has an established roster though. That's one thing that I hate about comics - they think of a team as a concept, not as a group of characters. They reuse the names to keep the trademarks up, but it hardly ever works that a radically altyered team composition under a previous name is actually good. They need to think about the characters and what they mean instead of treating the teams like puzzle peices to fill certain gaps.

Check out my edit ... I figured the Champions were sort of a newer Young Avengers ... So what will they do with the 'young' teams or will they have multiple?

Victoria & Albert’s Reopens July 28!

Few establishments allow you to indulge in the luxurious cuisine quite like Victoria & Albert’s. I’m thrilled to share this fine dining restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is preparing for its momentous return on July 28, with reservations available starting June 20.

Victoria & Albert’s, a recipient of the AAA Five Diamond Award since 2000 and Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Award since 2018, is known for its unmatched dining experience with exquisite dishes made with ingredients from across the globe. This restaurant is the only one in Florida to hold the honor of having both the AAA Five Diamond and the Forbes Travel Guide Five Star awards and joins only 26 others in the nation with this same unique distinction.
The time has come to experience its timeless elegance and modern twist on American cuisine. Not only will its flavors be enhanced, but the space will be too. The newly reimagined dining room brings guests into a Victorian-styled setting with murals and wall coverings that showcase a timeless elegance and subtle inspirations of a whimsical garden. For a more intimate evening, the private Queen Victoria’s Room or the coveted Chef’s Table with a front-row seat to the culinary masterminds at work may be the option for you. The world-class wine collection found within its wine cellar, with over 500 selections, perfectly pairs with your dishes by the sommeliers on staff. If you’re interested in zero-proof cocktails, there are delicious beverage pairing options for you as well.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! The biggest bucket list item of my life. I feel like I'll never be able to afford it again though. When it was 250$ a person I could see it in the horizon, but I just have a feeling it's gone up.
The website says "Although subject to change, the prix-fixe menu begins at $295.00 per Guest. Optional wine pairings start at $150.00 per Guest. Zero-proof pairings start at $110.00 per Guest. Prices are subject to change and do not include tax or gratuity."

My DH works in fine dining (3* Michelin varieties), and I've gotten him on the Disney train (we bought DVC last year), so we're both excited that they're reopening. Fingers crossed I'll be able to get reservations for our anniversary trip!!

Yeah, but Champions/Defenders, it doesn't matter much. It's just when they reuse the name with no connections to the original team that bothers me. At least with Champions it was a name
that hand'e been used in 40 years, but still - why not give them their own name?

Disney Exploring Bringing Drone Show to Disneyland Resort

According to the OC Register, Disneyland is looking to bring a drone show to the theme parks. Don’t make your Park Reservations just yet, because the work is still early on.

Disney Live Entertainment show director and writer Wendy Ruth said that they’re experimenting and exploring, but that “it’s really hard to say, ‘Yeah, it’s coming,’ because so much of it is an experiment.”

“We are looking at it and curious about how to do it,” Ruth said. “There are definitely experiments to be done with a variety of drones in size, in what they do and their programmability.”

So my AP expires on June 24th and I received an email this morning from “Disney Destinations”
there is no mention of my renewing my AP just the following message:
Your Annual Pass is about to expire!
We hope you made the most of your special Passholder perks. However, one or more of your passes may expire soon so now is the time to make the most of those shopping and dining discounts—plus other great remaining benefits—before your pass expires.

Same here. I received the same email, although I renewed our passes a couple weeks ago. I did the renewal over the phone. It’s probably just automatically generated.

I would have expected a reminder to actually renew my pass but the email doesn’t even mention renewal....I plan to call and renew my pass this week I just thought it strange and obvious that they don’t seem to want anyone renewing.

Mine said the same last November. I wouldn’t think anything about it.

Finally!!!!

I hope I'll be able to get reservations for December. This has been on our Disney bucket list for so long. So happy it is actually coming back, I was worried about this one.

Yes he was but that doesn't mean anything. Look who is head of parks now. The Boy Wonder is and yet these things are still happening.
AAAHHHH and there is the rub. Iger liked to give his executives autonomy over their divisions. Chapek appears to be a control freak. Totally different styles of managing.

Disney Shares More Details for ‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond’ at Animal Kingdom

The big blue world beckons once again as “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” debuts June 13 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The freshly reimagined return of this popular stage show invites guests into the undersea setting that charmed audiences around the world in the Disney and Pixar smash-hit animated film, “Finding Nemo.”
