In the grand scheme of things the way the Internet works it doesn't really matter how fast you sent that email. Not really. Every single person that wanted one could send the email literally at the exact same moment and some people's email may not reach Disney for 5 to 10 minutes while others will be there within seconds. Data packets stream through the Internet at varying speeds. And that's what your email is, a data packet. Just because you sent it one to two seconds as soon as it was available it doesn't mean they got it instantly. That's not the way email or anything works on the Internet. Theoretically they may not have gotten your email for an hour or two. That's not likely but it could happen. The Internet doesn't work like your computer is connected directly to Disney's computer. There are several points you have to go through to get that message to them. Any one of those points could be slow and prevent your message from coming through immediately. I am sure that Disney compiles the emails as they arrive in their server. They have no way of knowing that you sent yours one to two seconds after the eligible time.I have to say that I am not buying the Disney Cruise Line line on how they prioritize requests for concierge requests for cabanas. This was our second cruise attempting to get a cabana having sent the e-mail within 1-2 seconds of the eligible time. My guess is that the priority is higher cost rooms, followed by status, and then time of request submission. We are platinum in the lowest level concierge. I wish they would be honest rather than create the impression it is first come first serve. The good news is that I will have $620 for other things.
It was bad for the teen clubs. Was the changing of 19 staterooms on the Fantasy to Concierge a good or bad thing for guest?
What did it do to them?It was bad for the teen clubs.
They took away the Edge space for a suite. They took space out the vibe and turned it into the Edge. My kids are adults now, but I'm sure they would have complained about this. What did it do to them?

Nope, we get them because it provides us a nice quiet place to relax, plenty of space, and shade from the sun. To us, those are huge benefits.Cabanas are a waste of money. Better off not getting them.
Think people only get them to make themselves feel superior even though they provide little actual benefit.
There is already plenty of space to relax and have shade on the island. The island is literally an island of relaxation. Last time i got off the boat 2 hrs after everyone else and still easily found a shaded spot. I literally could not be more relaxed then i already was. Paying 600 dollars to be seperated from everyone else, however, would make me feel isolated and weird. I wouldnt take the cabanas even if they paid me.Nope, we get them because it provides us a nice quiet place to relax, plenty of space, and shade from the sun. To us, those are huge benefits.
There is not always plenty of space. When I was on the Treasure earlier this year my friend and I had to trek realllllly far down on Serenity Bay to get chairs. It certainly wasn't relaxing having to trudge through the sand, lol. There is already plenty of space to relax and have shade on the island. The island is literally an island of relaxation. I would take a cabana if it was free. Other than that you make a lot of valid points. There is already plenty of space to relax and have shade on the island. thank you-so trueNope, we get them because it provides us a nice quiet place to relax, plenty of space, and shade from the sun. To us, those are huge benefits.
Trudge through sand? Isnt that why people go to beach island in the first place? There is not always plenty of space. And there is not always plenty of shade. Yes, there are umbrellas, but either you or the umbrella have to move every 30 minutes to an hour in order to stay protected. As someone who's fair skinned, that's really important to me.
If you've never had a cabana (which is sounds like you haven't) I'm not sure how you can make a comparison. Yes, the island itself can be relaxing, but the cabanas are (in my opinion) even more relaxing.
If a cabana isn't for you, that's totally fine. But I don't see the need to shame others who feel differently.
Nope, not me. I go to the beach island to sit on the beach and relax, maybe go in the water a bit.Trudge through sand? Isnt that why people go to beach island in the first place?

Saying that people only get cabanas to make themselves feel superior seems a bit like shaming to me.Nothing in my orginal post about shaming. It was helpful advice to those who are considering doing concierge and splurging on cabanas. There are much much better things to splurge on.
Seems like jealousy to me.Nope, not me. I go to the beach island to sit on the beach and relax, maybe go in the water a bit.

Agreed. I have learned not to be critical of what people spend their money on. In my older age, I am more focused on experiences that create memories. To each their own.Seems like jealousy to me.
That's a three hour cut. But no cut in price. We have sailed on the eastern itinerary a few times and we have always docked late at castaway since the ship as so far to go to get there from St. Thomas. I think we weren’t able get off the ship until 11am, on that particular itinerary I do not think a cabana is worth it due to the shorter time to enjoy it. A cabana from 8-5:30 is a decent amount of time 11:00-5:30 not so much.
