Club runDisney 2022-2023 Registration Open, Platinum Level Sold Out​

Just before the pandemic, runDisney opened registration for the new Club runDisney, which offers priority registration and other benefits for a membership fee. Now, participants can join the club for the 2022-2023 season, which runs from October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023.

NEW: When Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT opens, a virtual queue will be in place. A regular standby queue will not be available.

Individual Lightning Lane will also be offered.

…a movie, written and directed by George Lucas, came to fruition. Years later, 8-10 films, a holiday special, cartoon series, Disney+ Series, Lego Adventures, Video games, lots of merchandise later, etc., we celebrate…

If you missed any of that, and/or never saw the very first episode, let’s break it down…


Episode IV, A NEW HOPE


It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.




During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.





Pursued by the Empire’s sinister agents, Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy….




So, after that, long story short…




I kid! I kkkiiiddd!! The rest of the movie, summed up, pretty much went like this. These guys…




Found a way to foil this guys plans… (hard to believe, right?!)




But fast forward to today and he’s coming back stronger than ever!!! And in honor of this amazing day, Darth has a special announcement of what’s to come…





And they all lived Happily Ever After. The End.

Disney offers more details on upcoming Fantasmic! relaunch at Disney's Hollywood Studios​

In a new press release today, Disney has provided a few more details on what we can expect from the Fantasmic! relaunch at Walt Disney World.
Disney says, "The iconic “Fantasmic!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will make its much-anticipated return later in 2022 with a new show sequence featuring Disney characters – Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Moana – in heroic moments, as well as new technical enhancements. Guests won’t want to miss this spectacle set on a canvas of water where the forces of good and evil battle it out in Mickey’s dream. The extravagant, open-air nighttime musical boasts more than 50 live performers, massive sets, stunning effects, rousing music and dazzling pyrotechnics."

Work has been underway on refurbishing almost all areas of the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater, which includes new lighting system, new fountains, and a rebuild of Steamboat Mickey.
Disney has stopped short of offering an opening date, but our latest information suggests that we will see Fantasmic! this summer, possibly in July 2022.

Fab 50 Scavenger Hunt, Batuu Bounty Hunter Games Launching with MagicBand+ This Summer

After a guest enters a theme park, MagicBand+ will come alive at various times with color-changing lights, haptic vibrations and gesture recognition, enhancing the environment’s storytelling. The wearable will allow guests to engage with favorite Disney moments in new ways and discover new interactive experiences, including:

• Guests can embark on the “Disney Fab 50 Quest” a scavenger hunt throughout the four Walt Disney World theme parks using MagicBand+ to help spread pixie dust and interact with the golden character sculptures. With the Play Disney Parks app, guests can dive deeper into the experience to find hints and keep track of sculptures that will unlock digital achievements, including an augmented reality feature.
• In the “Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters” experience, guests can join the Batuu Bounty Hunters’ Guild in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Using their MagicBand+ to find numerous virtual bounties hidden throughout Black Spire Outpost, guests will follow the band’s light patterns and haptics to complete their mission. Then they will return to the local guild master, who will reward them with galactic credits. Guests can also use the Play Disney Parks mobile app to help them reveal their virtual bounty using the app’s built-in augmented reality thermal viewer.
• Guests can experience nighttime spectaculars in a new way as they see their bands light up and complement the magic in the skies, including the new “Harmonious” at EPCOT and “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom Park.

MagicBand+ will be available at Disneyland Resort later this year. Some of the features will vary between Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. More details will be shared soon.
