Encouraging Sign: Disney Preparing to Install Marquee at Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Hollywood Studios

According to a recently filed permit, Walt Disney Imagineering is preparing to install the sign for Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The permit lists an address previously used for the upcoming table-service restaurant and lists Design Communications LTD as the contractor for the work. Design Communications LTD has done a lot of work for Disney in the pastfrom Magic Kingdom to EPCOT.

Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen Replace Beauty and Beast at Front of Festival of Fantasy Parade

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom today got to see a slight variation of the Festival of Fantasy Parade as it was performed at noon today. Instead of Belle and Beast leading off the parade, Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen took center stage at the front of the lead unit. It’s likely that this is not a permanent replacement as the Princess and the Frog platform is still a part of the princess float, but unused today.

So I have never been to a party before. What was the difference between Boo Bash and the Not So Scary events? I have actually busted my vacation budget for the year with two cruises and a short WDW trip this summer. But. . . .

So I have never been to a party before. What was the difference between Boo Bash and the Not So Scary events? I have actually busted my vacation budget for the year with two cruises and a short WDW trip this summer. But. . . .

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party was from 7 PM to midnight (ticketed guests could enter MK at 4 PM) and included an exclusive fireworks show (classicly Hallowishes), two showings of an exclusive parade (Boo to You) with the Headless Horseman riding ahead of it, and a stage show run several time per night (recently Hocus Pocus themed). There were treat trails for candy and other special ride overlays, character meets, etc.

Boo Bash was an "after hours" event that ran for three hours after park close (so like 8 to 11 PM or 9 to midnight). It did not have a fireworks show nor a parade (though ticketed guests could enter at 7 PM and watch the regular fireworks - regular fireworks are not run on MNSSHP nights). They did run the Maleficent Dragon around I think as like a mini-float and there were treat trails. I had heard that it they capped it at fewer tickets so it was arguably less crowded, though reports didn't bear that out. It's possible that because there was less to do it seemed more crowded - i.e. ride lines were much longer because people weren't grabbing parade spots or watching the shows.

So, yeah, MNSSHP us a much more complete experience.

Thank you! Something to think about if they go back to MNSSHP!

Boo Bash had halloween themed cavalcades last year. In addition, with it being an after hours event you could get popcorn, water, pop, and ice cream throughout the evening at no extra cost. I have been to both and went to the Christmas event last year too. I found that the Boo Bash and the Christmas events were both a lot less crowded than MNSSHP and MVMCP making it much easier to get on rides. However, I enjoy having the full parades, stage shows and special fireworks. I would hope that this year, regardless of what type of party they do, they have regular character meet and greets back especially with rare characters. The entertainment just makes it that much better. I feel like I am getting something that I can't get by visiting the park during normal hours.

I wasn't ever at Boo Bash, but with the parties there is so much to do that you can't do everything. I prefer going two party nights to experience shows, fireworks, special characters, etc., but that is $$$.

I agree. I went to Boo Bash twice last year. With only 3 hours you can't do everything. One night was strictly rides, the other was entertainment, trick or treating and maybe a ride or two. If there had been actual character meet and greets versus the "distancing sightings" that would have really put a wrench in it. The Christmas party we mostly spent our time on entertainment. My daughter is a CM and is a huge entertainment fan. We went in early and I had started getting rides with Genie+ in the morning so knocked most of what we like out before the parade started.

Just FYI, Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks was the new MNSSHP fireworks show that replaced Hallowishes in 2019. So it's new, but not brand new - although it only had that one season run before the Covid disruption so likely pretty easy to forget it ever happened at this point. :-)

But, the Christmas After Hours had the Minnie Mouse fireworks that used to be at the Xmas parties. I'm expecting Boo Bash with more offerings, but more expensive like the Xmas After Hours were
