With as picky as most kids (and some adults!) are, why do theme parks never seem to have a simple sandwich shop option? Something like a Subway/Jimmy John's/Penn Station/whatever?
It seems to me like it would be an easy, simple choice for many families, and they could spice it up somehow like they do with everything else.
Earl of Sandwich is a dedicated sandwich shop in Disney Springs, and while the parks don't have specific sandwich shops there are plenty of QS that serve sandwiches. Off the top of my head there's a fish sandwich in MK and a grilled cheese in Hollywood Studios, plus all the Starbucks usually have sandwiches. Disney doesn't want to overrun their parks with fast food chains because it would mean less control and immersion. And a lot of places carry the PB&J uncrustables for kids.
I have been asking this for a while myself...........dont want/need a chain, but a simple deli option would be good.
I'd agree if Disney didn't let you bring in your own food. Cold sandwiches are the easiest snacks/meals you could pack and if they sold them most people would look at the prices and decide to just pack their own. I'm not trying to bully picky eaters, DD has ARFID and I have to bend over backwards everyday to make sure she doesn't starve herself, but it is impossible to cater to every single taste unless you have a world showcase in every park. If you are picky due to some medical reason I can attest that Disney tries harder than most to accommodate you.
umm...am I reading this to be that boat service IS available at other times before/after the window of 11:45am-3:15pm daily?
We're planning a dinner at Citrico on March 10th and wanted to boat from WL to MK and then MK to GF...
Not just picky eaters though. Sometimes I just want something not fried or a little lighter. I realize there are options but I could totally get behind more sandwiches in the parks.
Hopefully she'll be focusing on fixing what's broken (digital DVC member cards!) before what they're hoping to launch later. And please, please test new things thoroughly before launch, don't make us be the testers!Disney names new Chief Digital and Technology Officer as the company expands its digital services
Gail Evans is joining the Walt Disney Company as the new Executive Vice President, Chief Digital and Technology Officer. Future digital platforms coming soon to Walt Disney World will include MagicBand+, the next generation of Disney's wearables, and Hey Disney, the personal assistant that will be part of the hotel experience and available at home.
Did anyone else notice that even some of the new menu items have a DDP logo? Is that sign of things to come?
I knew they had them on menus last May, just found it odd that they were beside new items. The signs have kept DDP logos since the parks re-opened.
It’s a stunning space – where EPCOT guests will get a chance to step aboard a Nova Corps ship and load into their Starjumper vehicles to take off with the Guardians of the Galaxy on a race through time and space! Our ride team has been hard at work testing this innovative ride system which we call an Omnicoaster. I have had the chance to experience myself, and I can tell you – this is truly unlike anything we’ve ever done! As we get closer to our Summer 2022 opening I’ll be sharing more about the design and the wonderful details that make this experience part of our EPCOT story!
