Complimentary Annual Passholder magnets coming to Disney Springs at Walt Disney World

View attachment 649328

Beginning March 2 2022, Passholders will be able to sign-up for the Virtual Queue on the My Disney Experience app for a one-hour arrival window at Disney's Wonderful World of Memories to pickup the magnet.

The virtual queue opens at 9am each day through March 30 2022, and there is a limit of one magnet per Passholder.

In addition to the magnets, there will also be exclusive offerings at The Ganachery and Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar. The Ganachery will be selling a Passholder Chocolate Covered Strawberry Marshmallows gift box, and the Hanger Bar will serving The 1st Class Ticket via a hidden menu,
and.....I arrive 3/31....too late!

Update on my previous speculation about weird calendar things for Blizzard Beach:

The 12th of March still lists it as under refurb with all the closed attractions listed

But the 13th (and beyond) has now gone from "Schedule Unavailable" to just "Closed".

not listed as under refurb, no listed closed attractions, just "closed". Hmmmmm.

First look at the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser exclusive MagicBand

View attachment 649316

Digital Creator Francis Dominic (via Instagram) has posted a picture of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser exclusive Magic Band issued to travelers aboard the Halcyon on arrival at the terminal. MagicBands allow you to interact with sensors called access points onboard the Halcyon Starcruiser, at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
The magic band is nice. I suppose white would not normally be my first choice for magic band color, but it does seem classy.

RUMOR: Is the Disney Dining Plan returning soon to Disney World?

While looking at some Disney Dining options today I happen to notice some new information. I am starting to see wording for the 2022 Disney Dining Plan on the My Disney Experience App.

As always take this bit of Disney Gossip with a grain of salt. Other than some screenshots we have no additional information at this time.

Do we have to actually be there to join the virtual queue? We live an hour away so I didn’t know if we could join from home then drive over when we know our window

They can't possibly bring back the DDP until the restaurants are back to full capacity, and I would say full menus. It's hard enough to get a reservation as it is in the park restaurants to throw DDP back into the mix. That would be a disaster for Disney for guests to pay for the plan and not be able to get a table service reservation.

what is this made of? It seems so... temporary? Like how is this a permanent canopy?

It’s an ETFE panel. It’s actually used a lot of places in lieu of glass. It’s a great material to use in harsh conditions. Once it’s installed there’s a duct where the canopy is inflated.

In this case the theming is on the inside vs the outside like Shanghai’s is.

ohhhhh ok that that's why it looks different than Shanghai lol it's not inflated yet! thank you!

Well that sucks. We’re an hour away. I’d hate to drive over and not get in the virtual queue or it mess with ds’s nap time.

The first day will be bad, but I don't see it really being that long. It takes what 2 mins to pick up a magnet as is. 45 miles can still be an hour drive, look at your miles distance.

I'm really hoping this is true! I know some people don't see the value in DDP but I always made the most of it.

I received a push notification regarding the Annual Passsholder Magnets and wanted to copy and paste this information from the MDE app…

One of the great perks of being an Annual Passholder is the chance to collect the latest exclusive Annual Passholder magnet. From March 2nd through March 30th, 2022, a new complimentary Passholder magnet will be available at Disney Springs®, along with additional Passholder offerings, while supplies last.* This special 50th Anniversary celebration edition magnet features Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse and sparkles with enough EARidescence to brighten any car bumper or refrigerator!
For Passholders’ convenience, a virtual queue will be in place to manage wait times and allow Passholders to enjoy their time at Disney Springs while they wait to pick up their magnet.
Passholders just need to follow three easy steps to receive their magnet:

1. Ensure Family & Friends List is Up To Date
If Passholders would like to pick up their magnet with others who also have a valid Annual Pass, they may add them to their Family & Friends list within their My Disney Experience® account to enroll everyone in the virtual queue at the same time. Please note, Passholders can only add Guests from their Family & Friends list who have opted to share “All My Plans” with them.
Limit one magnet per Passholder. Each Passholder must be present and show their valid Passholder ID and government-issued photo ID to receive a magnet.
2. Sign-Up for the Virtual Queue on the My Disney Experience Mobile App
Starting on March 2, 2022 and through March 30, 2022, Passholders will be able to access the virtual queue once they are within approximately 45 miles of the Disney Springs by logging into the My Disney Experience app and selecting “Annual Passholder Magnet Pick-Up” on the home screen. The queue will open at 9 a.m. each morning and may reopen at various times during the day with additional availability.
Passholders should check for updates within the Virtual Queues section of the My Disney Experience app.
Once a Passholder has successfully signed up for a virtual queue, they will be given an estimated wait time which may be as soon as 30 minutes from the time they entered the virtual queue. Once a Passholder is called to return, they will have one hour to enter the queue at Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories shop at Disney Springs. Passholders who do not arrive within this one-hour window will need to rejoin the virtual queue (subject to availability). Passholders should make sure that push notifications are turned on for My Disney Experience so they will be alerted when they are called to return.
Note that the return times will be between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
3. Enjoy the Day at Disney Springs and Await Return Time
After joining the virtual queue, Passholders can relax and enjoy their day at Disney Springs, discovering other limited-time Passholder offerings*:
• Passholder props at the Disney PhotoPass® Studio.
• Passholder Chocolate Covered Strawberry Marshmallows gift box available for purchase at The Ganachery, while supplies last.
• Passholder hidden menu beverage at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar available for purchase. The 1st Class Ticket beverage features Bacardi® tangerine rum and lime juice topped with Fever-Tree® ginger beer garnished with an orange slice. Or Passholders can enjoy a non-alcoholic version featuring lime juice, orange juice and ginger beer garnished with an orange slice (both options $14.00, plus tax).

Once Passholders receive an alert that it is time pick up their magnet, they must enter the queue at Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories shop located at Marketplace within one hour. Each Passholder must be present and have their Passholder ID and government-issued photo ID to receive their magnet.
