Disney World Theme Parks Continue To Reach Capacity for Presidents’ Day Holiday, Limited Availability for Remainder of Week

The calendar shows as full for not only ticket holders and resort guests, but for Annual Passholders as well. Tomorrow, February 22, is also full for ticket holders and resort guests, but availability returns for Annual Passholders as we head towards a runDisney weekend.

My issue is the 7:30 AK, with early entry at 7am.. and there is like one QS breakfast option at AK (and the line is SOOOO LONG you lose the advantage of RD if you want to eat) and nothing in the hotels open at 6am :(. Wish the QS hotels started 6am breakfast service.

Yep, I stayed at AKL in December and was shocked that there was nothing open early enough to eat before early entry.

I plan on picking up something that I can eat in the room before leaving for the parks in April, I don't want to wait until 10 a.m. to eat breakfast! Thinking of taking a trip to Gideon's on arrival day for cookies, they'd go great with coffee for breakfast, LOL!

yeah they changed our flight down, but only by like 45 minutes so instead of leaving at 6:45am we're leaving at 7:30am. i'd also be super ok if they change our return flight to a later time as we got the latest one coming home at 7:15pm and i like to fly out later than that to enjoy more time in the parks before its back to real life lol

My flight out was moved to a flight with a layover, I quickly went and rebooked to the only non stop now going out of BDL as I'm not taking 8 hours to get to WDW when it should be a 3 hour flight. I was very happy that I'll now be getting in about 6 hours earlier, much better timing that arriving at the resort around 11 p.m.

Was hoping my non stop flight home would move to a later time, but now it's actually leaving 20 minutes earlier, going to be a much too early 5 a.m. to catch the bus back to the airport. Grateful that they didn't cancel the only non stops flights entirely. I miss the days when I had 3 non stop flights to choose from...

That's a real bummer. They changed our May flights a bit but not by a whole day. At least they didn't cancel your flight day of. That happened to us twice last year. You have time to figure out something hopefully.

The alternative airlines are charging insane amounts right now ($550+-$1500+ per ticket) and they all have stops. Originally we booked RT no stop flights, now we've booked a free cancellation rental car to drive the 17+ hour drive back in case no new flight shows up. I have to balance risking DD melting down from to many transitions or wrestling with her car sickness, 2+ hours on the phone with SW was of no help. First vacation since 2017 and everything's going to pot, at least there's a great big beautiful tomorrow right?

Disney World Wait Times Reach Highest Level Since Pre-Pandemic Times

The average wait time for a ride at Walt Disney World yesterday was a whopping 57 minutes! That’s four minutes higher, on average, than even the Christmas holiday period, and 24 minutes higher than average wait times.

This weekend waits were tough. In Epcot Saturday it didn't help that from 2-6 PM Remy's was only running for about a half hour then went down again from 7-8ish.

Mine Train & Remy's both sold out of ILL prior to open for regular ticket holders (us), so lines were the only way, which means we couldn't ride Remy's since it was down most of the day.

MK (Sunday) we got in line for SDMT with a posted 90 minute wait and were in line for 3 hours.

We got Genie+ for MK and if you know how to use the system it can work out for you. Splash was a delayed open, so lines backed up a bit, but this is what we were able to do with Genie+ on a sold out day.

Rope Drop Pirates - walk on
Haunted Mansion - walk on
SDMT - Posted 90 actual 3 Hours (also ate Gaston's in line)
Buzz - G+
Lunch @ Casey's
Meet Mickey
Carousel of Progress (got stuck here for an extra room, twice)
Cavalcades
Splash - G+
Tiki Room
Philharmagic
People Mover
Dinner @ Lunching Pad
Monster's Inc - G+
Perfect Fireworks spot @ 7:45
Fireworks
Jungle Cruise
Pirates - G+
Big Thunder - G+

Yeah it was busy yesterday, but I think we managed.

Highly recommend Sanaa and Boma. Boma is always a favorite, and I ate at Sanaa for the first time in December and we loved it.

Looking forward to trying Jiko at some point, it was still closed in December.
Oh yeah I really want to try sanaa, gonna try for lunch the Saturday we are there since thats a resort day!!

Expedition Everest Refurbishment Extended Until May 2022

According to a Disney World internal calendar, the Expedition Everest refurbishment has been extended a couple of weeks. The Disney World website currently says that Expedition Everest will be closed “from January 4 through mid-April 2022”, but the attraction is currently listed internally as under refurbishment through April 30, 2022, internally.

The guest-facing calendar on the Walt Disney World website lists the attraction as closed through at least April 22, 2022.

It’s possible that Disney has not identified a reopening date yet and will adjust the reopening at a later time.

If you're driving to Animal Kingdom, there is a McDonald's on the way that's open at 6am.

There are also Perkins, IHOP, Chick-Fil-A, Burger King, Starbucks, Dunkin' and Wendy's just a minute away that are all open by 6am. We're planning that for our AK day.

These numbers didn't surprise me. They actually seem normal for now.

This one did!! Smart to grab something to eat.

I can tell you we are paying less than that next month on DELTA with really good seats over the wings on a direct flight that's coming all the way from LAX. Heck, I could upgrade to Comfort+ (step below first) and only barely hit that threshold right now.

Tower of Terror Experiencing Reduced Capacity, Increased Wait Times Due to Elevator Maintenance

It’s not immediately known how long the refurbishment will take, but the attraction remains open, albeit with elevated wait times. Graph from thrill-data.com.

I saw an article that permits for work had been filed with expiration date in January 2023 for ToT which may have to do with the many issues it's been having being a larger maintenance problem that could require an upcoming refurb
