Marvel's in the middle of releasing the Star Wars: Halcyon Legacy limited comic series ...

Halcyon Legacy

I haven't had a chance to read any of it yet, but Ethan Sacks has been solid on his Star Wars stuff and also wrote the Galaxy's Edge tie-in comic series
The first issue is decent and ties in the events, Jedi, and Nihil detailed in the books and comics of the High Republic era. The Halcyon is now 275 years old so the first comic has flashbacks to events 265 years ago referencing the great hyperspace disaster and opening of Starlight Beacon.

In the middle of the comic there is an ad for the 2-night adventure…

But the funniest part is Universal Orlando took out an ad on the inside of the last page…

Lots of new faces coming to Season 3 of The Mandalorian

Pedro Pascal, the actor who plays The Mandalorian show’s titular character, was recently interviewed by the German magazine Neelix. He was asked about filming the show’s third season and anything else he could reveal.

When asked what he could say about The Mandalorian starting its Season 3 production in October, Pascal replied, “Definitely nothing (laughs). Okay, there will be some familiar faces and there will be a lot of new faces. In addition, there is again a lot of action and a really great story. Satisfied?”

Pascal has made it clear that fans can expect to see more new characters in The Mandalorian than familiar ones.

The Universal ad probably runs in all Marvel Comics for the month. It's pretty common.

The comic looks fine to me, but I can tell you that some Star Wars fans are having absolute fit over this and the story wher eHan and Leia visit the ship!

I can’t wait to see the fan reactions in April when Halcyon Legacy issue #3 is published:
SPY INTRIGUE IN THE CLONE WARS ERA! ANAKIN and PADME are in disguise aboard the HALCYON tracking a senator suspected of having separatist ties! But their secret mission will put them on a collision course with ASAJJ VENTRESS! And, fifty years later, the ship’s crew risks a desperate escape through a deadly solar storm!

It will be very divisive (understatement). I don’t like that they’re doing it. I feel like they’re desperate to try to appeal to those who don’t care for the prequel era they’ve shoehorned themselves into with Galaxy’s Edge (what’s the opposite of retconning? postconning?) But I’m not so passionate that I’m going to yuck someone else’s yum. If it’s your thing, hey, go for it!

Ha ha, yeah. I don't really mind it personally, but whatever. I am generally for the things that make a lot of Star Wars fans' heads explode. I don't even care who shot first! 😮

I used to work at the joann fabrics by sesame place!! But yeah not the same at all lol

I drive right past that Joann Fabrics a few times a week whenever I cut through that shopping center on the way home to Casa de Brocktoon!

(apologies for the brief off topic discussion ... )

I'm really hoping they finally introduce a live action Doctor Aphra from the comics. She's possibly the best original character from the various Marvel books (along with the 'evil C3PO/R2D2' duo of Triple Zero and BT-1) and they were all popular enough to get their own action figures.

She's ~ 5 years older than Luke so she'd fit right into the Mando/Boba/Ahsoka timeline and they already introduced her 'sometimes' partner Black Krrsantan in Boba Fett. Unless they are holding out for her own solo series I'm surprised she hasn't even been mentioned yet

I’m so not into scary Chewie, but I’m all for any sort of continued shows featuring Star Wars characters. I just did a quick search and she looks pretty cool.

So DH and in ust watched the new video about the Halcyon and when it ended DH looked at me and said "so there's required reading for a starcruiser vacation?? Will you have to do a book report too?"

Lots of stuff is like this now in the age of the mega-franchise. How many MCU moveis is one expected to have seen to understand the latest one or even a TV show. Heck, now you have to have seen the Marvel stuff prior to the MCU! For Spider-Man you need to have seen Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man Homecoming, Spider-Man Far From Home, not to mention Doctor Strange and the rest of the Infinity Saga! I can't imagine trying to be a casual fan of this stuff anymore.

She's an archeologist, so a lot of folks compare her to the Star Wars version of Indiana Jones. But she's snarky and self-centered (could be Indy?) which draws comparisons to a Han Solo personality. In my opinion she can be pretty dark and really reminds me Migs Mayfeld (Bill Burr's character) from The Mando ... which may be why they haven't introduced her yet with Mayfeld and Fennec filling the 'moral grey' role pretty well.

Yep ... One of the reasons I love the MCU is how interconnected it is, but it's fallen into same trap as the comics where you eventually get stuck in a convoluted continuity mess where you need to read or watch everything. It's a double-edged sword

I see Star Wars falling into the same trap. It rewards the deep fans, but how do you even keep the film viewers in the loop if they don't keep up on the D+ stuff
