I guess nobody cares about the castmembers .

And we all should be encouraging and supporting Disney Unions and Cast.
I think everybody (or at least the vast majority) of us here do care about cast members. From reading the story it sounds like the company and the union are progressing in their negotiations. Although the contract expired on 10/1, the parties are making good faith efforts to resolve the issues. Whatever is agreed to will be retroactive to 10/1. Not sure what else we can do.

Just to note, people have apparently been trying to line up since the opening of DHS today. Disney is telling guests the queue won’t open until after 5:30pm.

What is the point of waiting to get into the show 9 hours ahead of time? And lamenting that Disney hasn't told you how it would work - what's to know? The show is at 8 PM. The CM told you dorrs open at 5:30 - go have fun in the theme park until then.

See, this is why Disney is the way that it is sometimes, even when lamentably so.

Disney Vacation Club Sponsors "Eat & Greet" With Jodi Benson

Today, Disney Vacation Club members can register to attend a November 9 brunch and book signing with the Disney Legend.

On Wednesday, November 9, DVC is sponsoring an "Eat & Greet" event with Jodi Benson, voice of Ariel from Disney's "The Little Mermaid." Hosted at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin', the 9:15am event will feature a buffet brunch. Attendees will receive a signed copy of Ms Benson's book "Part of My World."

The announcement, posted to Disney Vacation Club social media accounts, states that there is a fee for the event and a qualifying resort reservation is required. Readers are referred to the website http://disneyurl.com/BookClub for additional details. However, that site currently lacks any clarifying details.

There is a high probability that attendees must have a Walt Disney World resort registration on either November 8 or 9 to qualify. The cost of the event remains unknown.

Registration opens at 11:00am on Thursday, November 3. Disney is using the familiar virtual queue system to manage registrations. All individuals on the site at 11:00am will be randomly assigned a queue position in order to sign-up for the event. The restaurant location suggests a low capacity. Interested members are advised to visit the site http://disneyurl.com/BookClub before 11am to obtain additional details and have the opportunity to register.

Disney World Now Allows Same-Day Cancelation of Dining Reservations in My Disney Experience App

Following a systems update last night, guests can now make same-day cancelations of dining reservations as long as they cancel more than 2 hours prior to their reservation time. Scott Gustin was the first to report this change.

Previously, guests who wanted to make a same-day cancelation of a dining reservation were required to contact Disney World to make the cancelation and avoid a no-show fee. Now, guests who cancel more than 2 hours before the dining reservation can do so within the My Disney Experience app without the need to contact Disney. Canceling in the My Disney Experience app also avoids the no-show fee which is typically $10 per person.

This is amazing! I never liked the 24 hour rule, since sometimes well life just happens. And really people are always trying to get in same day so they should still have no problems filling them.

Just to note, people have apparently been trying to line up since the opening of DHS today. Disney is telling guests the queue won’t open until after 5:30pm.

I can’t imagine wanting to stand in line for 12 hours waiting for a show!!! I remember people waiting in lines for longer at Best Buy on Black Friday a few years ago for one of the Nintendo systems. They brought chairs, blankets, and coolers.

So, despite providing no info about how anything would work today, managers are pushing guests away from the Fantasmic queue and telling them to sit at Sunset Ranch Market. The queue will “open after 5:30”.
Which seems entirely reasonable for a show that starts at 8PM. I'm not sure why WDWNT feels the need to turn it into Another Terrible Thing That Disney Is Doing.

(That was a rhetorical observation. I do know why they feel the need to do that, and it is insufferable.)
