RUMOR: Disney Executives “Officially” Cancel EPCOT’s Play Pavilion, Will Abandon Project Unfinished

According to sources inside the company, that silence would remain through the D23 Expo 2022, and it did, with no mention of the existence of the project from executives or Imagineers. Strangely enough, just weeks later, the pavilion was mentioned on the EPCOT 40 map given to guests, and its pavilion logo even featured on EPCOT 40 merchandise which is still being released as we speak. Despite all of this, sources in the company now indicate that executives have “officially” canceled the project during a retreat to Walt Disney World.

Reportedly, it was chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Josh D’Amaro who pulled the trigger and killed the project. Those familiar with the pavilion said that a lot of the interior had already been installed and completed.
I feel like the company just feels so disorganized right now!!

I feel like the company just feels so disorganized right now!!

During the D23 parks panel they showed a bunch of 'potential' blue-sky ideas over the song 'Try Everything' from Zootopia. Putting 2 and 2 together I got the impression that future Imagineering projects may end a up a mess of start and stop ideas, or projects that may end up looking nothing like the original plan. Just too many poorly fleshed out plans thrown against the wall ...

Why not get rid of some of the character dining and move them into the parks instead. They really don't need all the character dining they have. IMO get rid of the ones in the parks and limit it to the resorts. Use the ones in the parks to have more meet and greets in the parks.
But that wouldn't bring in the big bucks

Mobile Waitlist Info Released for 2022 Disneyland Resort Hand-Pulled Candy Canes

Information has been released about Disneyland Resort’s famous hand-pulled 18-inch candy canes, which are returning for the 2022 holiday season.

These special treats will be available at Candy Palace in Disneyland Park on December 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, and 24.

They will be available at Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure on December 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, and 25.

For the chance to purchase a candy cane, guests must enter a mobile waitlist. Once the waitlist is activated each day, guests will be able to add their name and phone number at the location to receive a text back with a return time. Candy canes cannot be mobile ordered, and being on the waitlist does not guarantee you will get one. They can sell out before the day is done, so join the waitlist as early as possible.

The parks typically open at 8:00 a.m. We arrived at about 7:50 a.m. last year to join the mobile waitlist and received our text back at 9:50 a.m. The candy canes were $19.99 each last year.

Guests are being encouraged to check DisneyCruise.com if their booking was impacted in order to select alternative experience choices. Modifications to pre-arranged experiences and activities can be made until three days prior to sailing.

Tree of Life Awakenings Move to Nightly Showings Starting November 5th at Animal Kingdom

Following an inconsistent schedule since returning to Animal Kingdom earlier this month, the Tree of Life Awakenings and Beacon of Magic projection shows will be shown nightly starting November 5th. With an early close on November 5th and Daylight Saving Time ending on November 6th, it will get dark early enough to present the projection shows before Disney’s Animal Kingdom closes.
