Could this mark the end of Harmonious? I'd think Disney would have to find out how the fire started and see if similar conditions exist on the other barges. Can they do that quickly? Does the damaged barge need to be removed from the show?
The show should be fine, it may have reduced fireworks for a time if there is extensive damage to the launch electronics on the floating barge.Could this mark the end of Harmonious? Do you think that dessert parties and the viewing area are less crowded during events like the holiday parties? I am asking because the last dessert party we attended seemed much more crowded than the previous one we attended. I was considering giving up on dessert parties until last summer when we viewed Enchanted in the hub without the party. Wow! That experience was eye opening. I am wondering if booking a dessert party durning a holiday event might be slightly less crowded experience?I do it. I'll give you my reasoning, noting that people have different priorities, different definitions of "value" and different ideas of how they want to distribute their time and money when it comes to Disney trips. For me, it's simple. I'm on the "mature" side, LOL. I'm AP and go several times a year, usually for holidays and special events. My kids are 22 and 18. My older daughter is a CM. We enjoy spending time together at the MK soaking in the ambiance of the various holiday parties. We like the decorations, entertainment, parades, characters. My personal #1 priority is fireworks. That's my thing. I don't mind paying to have a reserved fireworks viewing spot in the Plaza Garden (or at a Tomorrowland Terrace seated view on NYE). I dislike watching fireworks in a crowd and I'm past staking out a spot in advance. And trust me, the hub crowds are pretty intense during parties. I used to do those things when I was younger and when my kids were younger. Now? I prefer to wander the MK for a couple of hours enjoying the holiday party, get my Dessert Party wristband, sit in comfort and have some drinks or coffee and treats with my older kids, then see the fireworks from my favorite spot in the Plaza Garden reserved viewing area, then continue to wander the MK enjoying the holiday party until closing time. Regarding the dessert party duration - you don't have to sit at the dessert party for the entirety of the party. You are free to come and go as you please. Usually my kids sit with me for awhile and then run off and ride some Tomorrowland rides or go to Main St for the early parade, then come back and pick up more drinks/treats to carry over to the Plaza Garden viewing area. The financial trade-off? We don't do dinner at BOG or CRT on a trip that includes a dessert party. It's an almost even trade. We're good with that. That's my reasoning, since you asked. Simply a matter of my personal taste, preference, prioritization. One person's point of view. Hope that helps.
Yes, I think you're right. I've done a couple of (Plaza Garden) Dessert Parties in 2022. One during MNSSHP and one on a regular night. The MNSSHP party seemed less crowded. That said, the regular night party didn't seem crowded to me either. I arrived at the viewing area about 15 min prior to the fireworks and had my choice of spots.Do you think that dessert parties and the viewing area are less crowded during events like the holiday parties? More Halloween Meet & Treat events will be held on October 22, 28, and 29.
If you are visiting Magic Kingdom and looking to get a sneak peek at filming, we would circle the following dates…in pencil: November 12th and November 13th.
Interesting. Our lone park day after our cruise is the 12th to celebrate the girls' birthday. I noticed the parade schedule was weird, but hadn't been looking at show schedules because I'm assuming they'll be ride-focused.
How much does filming like this impact park ops on the day!
Good to hear. I was thinking it would most likely mean we would do better going around the outside of things instead of trying to cut through in front of the castle, but that probably would have happened just from RDing Tomorrowland and working our way counterclockwise. It generally doesn't. It'll make the area around the front of the castle busy and with the stage you won't be able to go through the castle. I've never had it impact me at any of the parks. It can be fun to watch of they are filming musical performances.
Not all of the filming is done while the park is open either.
