First Look at the Magic Key Holder MagicBand+ Coming to Disneyland Resort

Today, Disney announced that on October 26, 2022, MagicBand+ will make its debut at the Disneyland Resort, but Magic Key holders will be able to get early access on October 19.

A valid Magic Key pass will be required to purchase a MagicBand+ ahead of its official launch. After that, guests will be able to set up their band and try it out.

Magic Key MagicBand plus(1)

In addition, a special MagicBand+ will be available for Magic Key holders to purchase, while supplies last. In addition to all the features already found on the MagicBand+, this designed band will include a unique light-up sequence.

If people aren’t buying Genie+ until they get to the park, they’re kinda in trouble
Maybe there should be a special line that you walk through with your magic bands on, Genie+ is automatically added to your day. These signs just list the price.

Mysterious Entrance Sign Installation Expands to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

It looks like all four Walt Disney World theme parks will receive the mysterious entrance signs that we first spotted at EPCOT. This afternoon, we made our way to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to find that new signs have been installed at the entrance to the park, simply sporting the park’s logo. Cast Members were not sure why the signs have been installed. Here’s a look at the installation.

If you squint your eyes and look closely, you can kind of make out the words down below. It says "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine!"

Eh. I detest Genie+ both in functionality and from a "moral objection" standpoint and the ONLY time I feel it's worth it is once you are in the park, On our trip a few weeks ago, we were in MK waiting in line for Splash and it was a fairly busy day. So out of curiosity I checked the current return times on G+ for the rides we would want to do and they were all within the next 20 min-hour. So we bought Genie+ right then and hopped from ride to ride on whatever had the closest return time. We did everything we wanted to do that way and were out of the park for an afternoon nap.

I would not want to prepurchase it only to find all the return times are pushing later than we wanted to be in the park or were gone.

My thoughts are either daily genie+ price point and/or them actually putting a cap on the amount of genie+ offered on a day to day basis and the signs will say if it’s available or not

Honestly Josh is probably just as equal to blame for all the unnecessary price increases.
The biggest culprits are all of us who keep paying. I was there in February and while we had a great time, the writing was on the wall and I don't see my family going back for at least 5 years so we can save up. It's just TOO EXPENSIVE. Hopefully something gives and, even though I don't see them backpedaling on any price increases, my hope is their offerings ramp up to justify the added cost to everything. If that doesn't happen, I guess I'll never go to Florida again.

We are a young child family so we haven't ventured over to Universal yet (I wanna be able to ride all the things!) but the way things were last month at Disney, we may just visit Universal and possibly a beach and Disney Springs for our merch fix. We cannot and will probably never be able to afford genie+, so we rode next to nothing, we stay value which might turn into offsite because value isn't exactly 180$ a night, and we spent more time at our resort swimming than we ever have before because it was less stressful and we actually felt like we got our money's worth, unlike the parks. It's easy to stick it to the man and say "we just won't go" but then again it's like why do they care what I do? And Disney trips make me happy so I'm gonna keep going, but I won't be purchasing all these extras that they try to glorify and sell as a necessity.

It should be closed now.

It seems to be down most of the time anymore. In my past three trips, and multiple tries, I’ve been able to ride it once. (And that was only by luck because it was down that morning, but I held onto my LL for it until I was leaving the park. It came up right before I left.)

Three words: record profit. Pay them Disney, come on. It isn't even an argument about the total raise, just the timeframe. Lame.
Sure. Let's be fair and when Disney's profits go down (like during the past 2 years) the CM's give back some of their earnings too.

Are you joshing me? You’re talking about a company that makes billions in profit even when their profit goes down. Disney agreed to the raise, just not the timeframe, so it’s a weird argument to make.

I heard from a bus driver the new signs will be called "Individual Sign Pass" or I$P. For only $5 per day per person, on top of a park ticket, you can look under the cover to see the costs that day for the ILL$ and Genie+ features, or some other type of park insider information. Don't forget to add I$P to your reservations, today!
