I disagree.A lot of this isn’t even unique to Disney or Chapek. Corporations in the past few years have become increasingly hostile towards their customers. I don’t think they ever cared, but they hid it behind a thin veil. The mask has been lifted these past few years and they’ve told us frankly how they feel about is. The number of companies I’ve had to stop doing business with because they won’t even honor their own (terrible) terms and conditions grows by the month. The motto of “a happy customer is a loyal customer” has been replaced by “above all else, profit.”
The age of YouTube, Instagram and TikTok videos has made any little grievance, spotted by anyone, an instant worldwide beef.
Years ago, I would never have heard of the facade falling from the building in Hollywood Studios. The 2 people who saw it would have forgotten to tell their friends about it upon returning from vacation as it was a nothing burger. Even if they did, maybe a dozen people would hear about it. That's it. Now hundreds of thousands of people hear about it SECONDS after it happened, and see videos and pictures about it, read articles about it, and deduce that the park is falling apart.
