A lot of this isn’t even unique to Disney or Chapek. Corporations in the past few years have become increasingly hostile towards their customers. I don’t think they ever cared, but they hid it behind a thin veil. The mask has been lifted these past few years and they’ve told us frankly how they feel about is. The number of companies I’ve had to stop doing business with because they won’t even honor their own (terrible) terms and conditions grows by the month. The motto of “a happy customer is a loyal customer” has been replaced by “above all else, profit.”
I disagree.

The age of YouTube, Instagram and TikTok videos has made any little grievance, spotted by anyone, an instant worldwide beef.

Years ago, I would never have heard of the facade falling from the building in Hollywood Studios. The 2 people who saw it would have forgotten to tell their friends about it upon returning from vacation as it was a nothing burger. Even if they did, maybe a dozen people would hear about it. That's it. Now hundreds of thousands of people hear about it SECONDS after it happened, and see videos and pictures about it, read articles about it, and deduce that the park is falling apart.

The park is falling apart. Look at the state of disrepair Splash is in.

Read my post above yours. That's falling apart to me.
Still, we know Splash Mountain is on its way out. Why would they spend time and money fixing something that we know is going to the dustbin? I would love to be on that ride on the last day of operation, when chunks of the ride will be covered in ugly tarps and the animatronics we can see look like a dystopian nightmare. (I'm kidding. I'm sure it won't be quite that horrible on the last day.)

IMO if it's in that bad shape close it already.

It's about to go down for the PATF overhaul, anyway, why fix anything that's not an easy fix?
I mean I agree but it's just sad that for the prices Disney charge, they can't keep their attractions in better condition than this. When I rode Dinosaur in May, a bunch of the animatronics were not working. Indiana Jones in DL is also in very rough shape.

I believe it's a known thing that Disney has changed their approach to park maintenance. They used to schedule down times during the less busy season for preemptive maintenance on the rides. Now they don't do that as much and let things break and then fix it - causing more unexpected ride downtime during park days and permitting more broken animatronics etc. I do think that's sad.

Oooohhh Look!! More Mysterious Signs in Disney World!!!

Mysterious Entrance Sign Installation Expands to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

It looks like all four Walt Disney World theme parks will receive the mysterious entrance signs that we first spotted at EPCOT. This afternoon, we made our way to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to find that new signs have been installed at the entrance to the park, simply sporting the park’s logo. Cast Members were not sure why the signs have been installed. Here’s a look at the installation.

Maybe the signs are to remind people which park they're at. It wouldn't surprise me if people accidentally went to the wrong park a lot.

Interesting that they still keep the dragon in the logo while it's never been a part of the park.

These will probably end up being super mundane, but man, I'm intrigued.
