He certainly doesn't stand up against it. People like Josh better because he's a more affable guy in general, but he's just as complicit. Chapek surrounds himself with yes-men. At least Iger, for all his faults, let his executives have a voice - even if one of those voices was Chapek's!

ETA: Also, if Chapek had any sort of charisma at all, the fans would probably be somewhat more forgiving of a lot of the steps he takes, or at least accentuate the good with the bad. Likeability is a huge factor that Chapek seems to disregard.
oh 100% I would like him better if he had a morsel of personality. Hence why I made Josh the good guy in the equation. TBH they're all the villain. There is reason for price increases but even the Disney skeptic has to see that it's not been the usual give and take. We visited during 2020, January of this year, and just last month and the overall guest experience is down, which surveys have shown, but it seems that all they wanna talk about in interviews is "well people are paying for it so... they must like it." No we are forking out money hoping it improves our day in the parks. And so far it hasn't. Maybe it's never going to even out and the pandemic was just a test to see how they could take away and we'd still visit. I have to have some sort of sense of humor or I'll cry every day and never visit again, and I'm a crazy Disney lover so that's not an option!

Tokyo Disney New:

Tokyo Disney Resort Offers Limited Time Discount on Tickets for Vaccinated Guests

As part of an effort by the Japanese government to generate demand in the event industry, Tokyo Disney Resort is offering discounted tickets for vaccinated guests for a limited time.

Monorail MagicBand+ Introduces New Price Point

Guests with access to the pre-arrival MagicBand+ offerings are able to select from 70 MagicBand 2.0 and MagicBand+ designs. Each of the MagicBand wearables comes at a pre-arrival discount, but one of the MagicBand+ designs has introduced a new price point.

There are three MagicBand+ price tiers in the Disney World theme parks – $34.99, $44.99, and $54.99. Typically, solid color MagicBand+ wearables are the cheapest at $34.99, MagicBand+ with designs are priced at the middle $44.99 tier, and limited release MagicBand+ push up to the highest $54.99 tier. Here’s a look at the pricing on a Walt Disney World MagicBand+ display.

Considering how many people I know that have had issues with the new bands, I don't think this is a very smart thing to do...

A lot of this isn’t even unique to Disney or Chapek. Corporations in the past few years have become increasingly hostile towards their customers. I don’t think they ever cared, but they hid it behind a thin veil. The mask has been lifted these past few years and they’ve told us frankly how they feel about is. The number of companies I’ve had to stop doing business with because they won’t even honor their own (terrible) terms and conditions grows by the month. The motto of “a happy customer is a loyal customer” has been replaced by “above all else, profit.”

Monsieur Paul Reopening Date & New Prix Fixe Menu Announced at EPCOT

Disney World has announced that Monsieur Paul will reopen soon at EPCOT. Here’s the announcement:

On October 18, 2022, Monsieur Paul will reopen. Check back soon for more information on making reservations.

The Menu

The new prix fixe menu offers a gastronomic meal––one in which people devote themselves to the art of “eating and drinking well.”

Very popular with the French and deeply familiar to them, the gastronomic meal has developed over centuries, constantly evolving, and has been passed down from generation to generation. The meal entails rites which include the search for good seasonal and local products, references to a codified repertoire of recipes, culinary skills, the setting of a beautiful table, the succession of courses and the pairing of dishes with wine.

The gastronomic meal of the French was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010.

I think you're correct. But it's hard to swallow because Disney gives me happy warm feelings and it's hard to admit that they are just another corporation and I'm just some low class consumer to them. The place itself, the cast members, and the people I chose to bring with me are what makes it important to me!

This is exactly right. Corporations are not our friends and won't do what's best for the customer - they only care about making money and that's about it. I think companies like Disney, Amazon and Apple are some of the worst in this regard.

Walt Disney World's Fantasmic! reopening date announcement expected very soon

Disney is expected to announce a reopening date for Walt Disney World's Fantasmic! this week as the debut of the updated nighttime spectacular nears.

The fan-favorite show at Disney's Hollywood Studios has been closed since the pandemic shutdown in 2020, but with rehearsals currently in full swing, a reopening date in the first half of November 2022 is now expected.
this is the only thing i have been waiting for since parks reopened!! cant wait to see it again in January <3 haven't seen it since my trip in 2016 cuz we left HS early in 2019 to go to the first Villains after party.

Will the new magic bands work at both WDW and DL? Or do you need to buy resort-specific bands?

Same, I can't remember the last time I saw it, so excited to get to see it again in December!

There should be a pinned thread tracking
I wonder how long the lines will be in mid December for this and will it be added to Genie+? Both are scary prospects, either waiting for hours or losing 2 hours of G+ ride time while waiting for your next window to open. Yikes!!
THIS!!!!

I can imagine the chaos if it opens the first weekend of the month aKa wine and dine weekend… at our 60 day we had booked a 630 Oga’s with plans to hop over to the show after pending it opened and now in the event that this is the opening weekend I’m now wondering that IF it’s loaded into genie+ It would be worth spending the 32.10-47.08 for genie +
