I'm looking forward to the new Lands-IF they actually happen.

Other than that in fairness to Josh, the Airlines haven't announced much new either.

You didn't miss anything. Nothing was announced for that space.

And that's and example of a project that has been rumored, but not taken to the next level.

Really there were rumors of doing a whole Tomorrowland Refurb along with adding Tron.... but other than a little paint?

While the ideas about an expansion at MK are great.... I really don't see why. You have three other parks, that are none of them really full day parks on their own...

Just realized something...If this expansion behind big thunder mountain actually comes that probably means the railroad will close again. Obviously who knows when/if that actually happens but man the railroad just can't catch a break!
Not necessarily. The railroad presumably borders the area they intend to build instead of running through it. They could do the tree removal and all other near-track work at night.

The wife and I said we were taking a break from regular park trips, and then they announce THIS! I feel like Al Pacino in Godfather 3. "Every time I get out, they pull me back in."
Worst one of the 3!! Just watched GF 2 again yesterday. Can watch them on repeat!!.LOVE 1 & 2, but give a slight edge to 2. Love reciting lines!!! 🙂

My guess is they're adding songs from Encanto, Frozen 2, and Coco and also adding the projections on Main Street. I really don't think they're going to mess it up :)
Maybe some 4Town too though that could be just a self indulgent add
Ummm...have they ever mentioned what they're doing with the old Stitch's Great Escape ride area?? Did I miss a previous announcement?

From what I remember of the interior was it even that big to put something like a "ride" in it??

My brain is foggy this Monday morning..
Nothing announced but I’d settle for a themed meet area for stitch maybe bring angel to Florida

Womp womp

And if they would just bring back the cheeseburger eggrolls to the HEA Dessert Party, I would be ecstatic!

Come on, Disney…Go the Distance and cheeseburger eggrolls…that’s all I am asking!

See! Now that brings back a great memory! When we went to the dessert party for dinner. My girls thought that was pretty fun:)

Well said. Part of my reason for the negativity is I have a 2 year old that I want to take some time but with the direction they have gone the last few years and adding in todays lackluster announcements it's hard to see any good for this company anymore.

I will add about this thread. It's great that it's light hearted and updates the news, the only thing I don't like is the lack of discussion. Each news story may get 2-3 response and it's on to the next thing. Even if you post new threads to discuss some of these news stories they die quickly.

Sorry but like I said it's hard to be positive when the continue to let you down. I expect more from the top theme park company.
I also very much miss the discussion that used to take place on these boards. But I have to remind myself that we cannot blame the current thread moderators for that..... (not saying that you are :goodvibes)

OMG! I've been waiting for this for what seems to be forever. For me, this is huge news because while many are off enjoying Tron, this is where I'll be. :woohoo:I was very surprised that the return of the WDRR was not announced at D23. I don't know but is there some kind of disconnect with a certain demographic? I'm an older adult and this attraction is really important to us folks that have been frequenting the MK since the first year of its inception. It's like a piece of history.

Animal Kingdom is way more of a full day park for us than MK. Really, the only one that isn't a full day for us is Studios. Epcot now with Guardians and Ratty to go with Soarin and Test track is a full day as we spend evenings and nights at World Showcase.

In reading this post I had a vision. It is 2 weeks ago and Bob Chapek is sitting in his office going over the D23 agenda. And like those old cartoons, an angel pops up and whispers into Bob's ear, go ahead, announce the plans for opening new rides and lands. Give the people what they so much want to hear. Just then a devil pops up on the other shoulder and yells at Bob's other ear, think about the cost! So what do we get, some spitballing about ideas that are being kicked around for the future (like 2050). This might actually make a better animated film that some of the most recent dribble that Disney has produced (did anyone sit thru the entire Lightyear movie - Yuck).

Backtracking a little... can we just have Wishes back? I experienced Enchantment for the first time a few days ago. It was absolute insanity. There's not enough space for the masses. Last week was a slower week, crowd wise, but there was still a ton of people and just nowhere for them to all go on Main Street for a show. The poor cast members have an impossible job of trying to keep the walkways clear. They are yelling. They are getting yelled at. People are yelling at their families out of frustration. Guests are being routed backstage past trucks and trash bins on the Emporium side of Main Street. It was pure madness. We didn't even really see the show because of the craziness.

Magic Kingdom needs a fireworks show that is purely in the sky and without projections. Enchantment was quite honestly, a dangerous situation. It needs to go away, as soon as yesterday. The execs who make these show decisions and give the guidelines for the cast members to follow, need to spend time in the shoes of the average guest and of the cast members who are put in these predicaments.

Anyway, most everything not Enchantment was great. Carry on!

Yeah, I'm thinking these fireworks shows like HEA (confirmed return) and Enchantment are the reason we will probably never see an MSEP-type nighttime parade again at MK unless they do it at some kind of event like extended evening or an upcharge after hours.

I love Universal but yes they took the screens way too far. Took out all of the family friendly rides (jaws, Kong, Earthquake etc.) and replaced them with screen rides. However, they seem to be turning the corner. We're hopeful that the new park will have more family friendly rides with real sets.
I thought it funny how they have Jaws, Kong and BTTF on all their merch but there is NOTHING of them in the parks.
