The American Adventure at EPCOT closing for refurbishment​

According to the latest refurbishment calendar, the elaborate audio-animatronic show will close on September 19. A reopening date is not yet available, with the show remaining closed for the duration of the published calendar through November 6 2022.

70% Of Guests Intend to Purchase Disney Genie+ Again

In a Bank of America conference this afternoon, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro talked about the way that guests use Disney Genie+ at the theme parks. The Disney Genie+ product is doing “phenomenally well” and is doing better than Disney had originally forecasted, according to D’Amaro. D’Amaro went on to say that guests who have used the Disney Genie+ product indicate a strong intent to use it again. According to D’Amaro, 70% of guests who purchase Disney Genie+ intend to buy it again when they return.

Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this: I have a different email address in my Disney+ account than my MDE account. I would assume that in order to be eligible for the Disney+ discount, I'd have to open a new MDE account with that email address but my AP is associated with my MDE email...anyhow know how to consolidate everything? Might be a non-issue if the Disney+ discounts end up the same as the current AP discounts.

You can call and have them merged. I had to do this when they changed my level of Hulu to include Disney+ but I was paying for the 2 separately with different emails before. It was really easy once I talked to someone. I’ve also had to have them merge 2 MDE accounts for my brother that both had different emails before and that was also a very easy process.

I haven't heard anything like a multi year deal for us. My subscription was set to automatically renew at $69.99 a year by Disney. I didn't choose that, but I'm also not messing with it since it's a rather good deal. It's for Disney+ alone, no Hulu bundle. Is your account set to automatically renew? If not, maybe that's why you received the targeted email and the enticement?

Signage Removed, Interior Gutted at Cool Wash in EPCOT​

It seems that there’s a change in the road for Cool Wash at EPCOT, as a number of elements have been removed from the shady stop in World Discovery. Planters are in place in front of the stand, while the signage with its name is gone.

First Look at the 2022 Oogie Boogie Bash Guide Map and Trick or Treat Bags at Disney California Adventure​

Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure begins tonight and we have picked up our guide map and treat bags! Let’s take a look at this year’s designs.

The inside has the actual map and a list of entertainment.

I will be there Saturday. My first Oogie Boogie. I will be dressed as Agatha Harkness and have blue hair (yes it's an all year thing for me, not just for Halloween ). Say hi if you see me.

I just can’t help it but when I see picture of Chapek he reminds of Superman’s nemesis Lex Luther...

Pete refers to him as Lex Luther sometimes too.

For the Hulu/Disney+ account merge I talked to Disney+ customer service. And to merge the MDE accounts I just called the AP line.

So I signed into my DVC account a little bit ago and I kept getting an error message. After I got back in, I noticed the welcome screen was no longer a countdown, but it showed my points totals for my contracts… but now it’s back to the countdown screen. I was able to screen grab before it changed. Anyone else see this? This is a first for me and I was on a few times today.

So weird! I wasn’t seeing anything for a bit and now it’s back to a countdown. I wonder if it’s changing over to the points total screen? So random. I don’t recall those links either.

DVC here. I've only seen the points remaining when I don't have a reservation booked through my DVC account (and thus have nothing to count down to). Rare, but I just saw it yesterday since I was waiting until after our Labor Day trip to book our April/May trip.

Check your email, I just got one from Disney+ with 'We Got You A Little Something' in the title, they're sending out Disney+ boxes while supplies last, supposedly worth $150 as a thank you for being a subscriber to Disney+

Possibly! I know it was glitching badly a few weeks ago for me and my reservations kept disappearing off my dashboard, but that hasn't happened since.

Blizzard Beach Reopening This Fall, Kids' Water Play Area to Receive Enhancements​

On January 2, 2022, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park closed to Guests for a major refurbishment project. Eight months later, the water park is still closed as crews continue to work on many of the aging facilities and attractions that have been operating seasonally for the past 27 years. Now, it appears that the Walt Disney World Resort is finally getting ready to officially announce the reopening date of this unique water park.

According to recent rumors, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will reopen to Guests by the end of October or the beginning of November (unless unexpected issues force the park to remain closed for a longer period of time). At that time, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will very likely close down for refurbishment, even though it's not expected to be as extensive. Expect the announcement to be made by the end of September.





Additionally, while the Walt Disney World Resort hasn't officially confirmed this yet, it appears that Tike's Peak (one of the park's water play areas) may have received some enhancements.

It's possible that your trips were slow to load from the database and the points dashboard loaded instead. Seems like a reasonable fallback for the website to have.
