‘Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration’ Animated and Live-Action Special Airing on ABC in December​

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Disney’s animated “Beauty and the Beast,” ABC will air a two-hour special called “Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration” on December 15.

The special will be executive produced by Jon M. Chu and directed by Hamish Hamilton. It will be a hybrid of animation and live-action, with musical performances woven throughout the original feature film.

There will be new sets and costumes inspired by the story. Songs from the original film will be performed in front of a live audience at Disney Studios. The cast has not been announced.

Disappointed as our first DL trip happens during that window. Oh well, nothing we can do. I’d rather find out now than when we arrive.

Yep, the only time I've been to DL, it was during the time it was closed for the overlay; we were very disappointed.

I do enjoy 75% of our Canadian weather. The middle of winter I hate... but every other season is amazing. We don't live in igloos and wear snowshoes... lol.
Where I live I'm more south than many parts of the US.

I live in Connecticut, I hate Winter but am good with the rest. I'd like to go somewhere warmer from January to April. I like snow at Christmas (which is actually rare), but you can have it after that!

AT-AT Mist Blasting Effect Restored at Star Tours in Hollywood Studios

A long-dormant effect has been restored in the Star Tours queue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With the end of the Jedi Training Academy seemingly confirmed, Disney has restored the AT-AT mist blasting effect that not only mists the queue, but also the area surrounding the iconic prop.

I never knew it did this!

This is SO TRUE! We have booked a trip to Disney just for the AP previews.

As much as I love Nightmare, I prefer the regular HM. Also, a lot of the scenes don't really make much sense without the basis in the regular HM. It's something that works for DL fans who frequently visit, but not so much for that one-time fan or someone new to Disney. Also, the extended down time would be harsh!

DLR local here…As much as I love the NBC overlay, I honestly hate that it runs for so long. I always end up missing the original HM after a month or so. And I also hate the extended downtime twice per year. The OG HM will always be the best to me

I know. My step-father is Canadian. Texas also isn't all desert, and we don't all ride horses It's really that middle of winter stuff that I just couldn't put up with. I also suspect your "summer" would be way too cold for my thin Texas blood.

My husband is Canadian, just moved down to SoCal last year. He HATES the summers, but loves the winters. I hated his winters! But I will say, where he lived (Calgary) it would get pretty hot in the summer, just not surface of the sun hot

It's actually a good/bad thing that he's not really a Disney person, otherwise I think we'd find a lot more reasons to go down there, and my bank account would not be happy, LOL!

I thought the same thing. I share the same birthday year with Beauty and the Beast and we definitely turned 30 last year.
