Thank you so much for the truly kind words. I really do appreciate it.Folks, mrsap deserves the Murrow award for the WDW and DLR reporting. Thank you mrsap for your continued dedication to this thread! Love it.
Allegedly they had planned to but didn’t go forward with it because Disneyland is local driven while world is more of a “destination” and the thought of the ride either closed or being with an overlay 5 out of 12 months wouldn’t fly in FloridaI wish WDW would get this.
So this is just hearsay and I wouldn't take this as fact but when my sister worked at WDW she asked her manager why Florida doesn't get the Nightmare before Christmas overlay for HM. He told her that since WDW is more of a vacation destination, they feared that once in a lifetime guests would complain that they were not getting the "real" Haunted Mansion experience.Allegedly they had planned to but didn’t go forward with it because Disneyland is local driven while world is more of a “destination” and the thought of the ride either closed or being with an overlay 5 out of 12 months wouldn’t fly in Florida

*SAD* It would actually be an enhanced HM experience IMO.
Disappointed as our first DL trip happens during that window. Oh well, nothing we can do. I’d rather find out now than when we arrive. The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Closing August 15, 2022 for Holiday Overlay
The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland will be closed starting August 15 to receive its holiday overlay inspired by “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” According to the Disneyland website, Haunted Mansion Holiday will reopen on September 2, 2022.

Same. I saw the overlay last year on my first DL trip and while I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it eitherAs much as I love Nightmare, I prefer the regular HM. Also, a lot of the scenes don't really make much sense without the basis in the regular HM. It's something that works for DL fans who frequently visit, but not so much for that one-time fan or someone new to Disney. Also, the extended down time would be harsh!
Not surprised but still a bummer. That experience was a highlight for our then 5 year olds. They still talk about how they fought Darth Vader.
As a Canadian AP holder, I've never had any magnet mailed to me, so I've missed out on quite a few!!![]()
I do enjoy 75% of our Canadian weather. The middle of winter I hate... but every other season is amazing. We don't live in igloos and wear snowshoes... lol.But you get the joy of enjoying that beautiful Canadian weather all yearCan't stand the cold, but I am sure the Texas weather would melt many Canadians.
Honestly, I thought he'd make more money. TWDC is one of the largest entertainment companies in the world if not the largest.

Where I live I'm more south than many parts of the US.
