Guests Briefly Evacuated from Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Disney World

According to a social media post from jp_visits_disney, guests were briefly evacuated from the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser immersive hotel experience yesterday at Disney World. The cause of the evacuation wasn’t immediately available, but a follow-up post on Instagram said that the evacuation was brief, only lasting about 30 minutes. A reason for the evacuation was not given.

Folks, mrsap deserves the Murrow award for the WDW and DLR reporting. Thank you mrsap for your continued dedication to this thread! Love it.
Thank you so much for the truly kind words. I really do appreciate it. 😊 I enjoy keeping you guys informed and getting to interact with all of you!! You’re a great group! I love this thread :grouphug:

Allegedly they had planned to but didn’t go forward with it because Disneyland is local driven while world is more of a “destination” and the thought of the ride either closed or being with an overlay 5 out of 12 months wouldn’t fly in Florida
So this is just hearsay and I wouldn't take this as fact but when my sister worked at WDW she asked her manager why Florida doesn't get the Nightmare before Christmas overlay for HM. He told her that since WDW is more of a vacation destination, they feared that once in a lifetime guests would complain that they were not getting the "real" Haunted Mansion experience.

*SAD* It would actually be an enhanced HM experience IMO.

As much as I love Nightmare, I prefer the regular HM. Also, a lot of the scenes don't really make much sense without the basis in the regular HM. It's something that works for DL fans who frequently visit, but not so much for that one-time fan or someone new to Disney. Also, the extended down time would be harsh!

Disappointed as our first DL trip happens during that window. Oh well, nothing we can do. I’d rather find out now than when we arrive.

Same. I saw the overlay last year on my first DL trip and while I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it either

As a Canadian AP holder, I've never had any magnet mailed to me, so I've missed out on quite a few!! 😥

But you get the joy of enjoying that beautiful Canadian weather all year :rotfl2: Can't stand the cold, but I am sure the Texas weather would melt many Canadians.

I do enjoy 75% of our Canadian weather. The middle of winter I hate... but every other season is amazing. We don't live in igloos and wear snowshoes... lol.
Where I live I'm more south than many parts of the US.

I know. My step-father is Canadian. Texas also isn't all desert, and we don't all ride horses :rotfl2:It's really that middle of winter stuff that I just couldn't put up with. I also suspect your "summer" would be way too cold for my thin Texas blood.

I can understand that. I've seen YouTube footage of the ride with the Nightmare overlay and it's essentially unrecognizable as HM.

If I was coming from the other side of the world and would never be able to come to WDW again, I would want to see the 'real' Haunted Mansion.
