This season, the Guardians will trade in their classic hits playlist for a mash-up of seasonal jams at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. Guests will blast off to the tune of an awesome holiday single, bringing joy to Xandar and Terra, too.
I'm surprised they would do this so soon after opening. Seems like they may take any chance to switch up the song playlist which makes sense.

"Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are limited and may be purchased online beginning July 7, 2022. Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can begin purchasing tickets as early as June 30, 2022."

Any ideas what hotels would be able to book first?
I mean, it is definitely going to be the deluxe hotels and those staying on DVC points.

Just remains to be seen if all deluxes will be included.

I know this isn't the biggest deal but it's a change like this that completely baffles me. Like, who sits down and decides to change something like this and why? The buckets and how the food was delivered was such a fun part of the whole experience. What is the purpose of this change?
These look like the same skillets they have been using at Trails End since it reopened with "Family Style" only menu. (no buffet :(). Since it is the same kitchen, I suspect this is just a cost/efficiency thing. Although I could see this being a subconscious way to reduce waste. The same food spread out flat looks like more than the same amount stuck in a bucket.

I do miss the buckets and wish they kept them. On the other hand, I do think there are good reasons to reduce waste. A lot of times they "All you care to enjoy" family meals bring too much food to start with, or bring out food no one is going to eat. I would love there to be ways to reduce the amount of food that gets thrown out at the end of the day.

But I also want buckets...

That's what usually happened to us. Eat a bunch, then sit there waiting until your not hungry when it arrives.

Now if we could only learn that for all our meals.

Price point doesn't help either, I'm gettin my moneys worth dang it.

If you decline "2nds" you get like 15% or whatever off.

So by “select Disney resorts” they meant all of them.

Is it too early to start speculating about which ones they picked? The songs would definitely have to be up-tempo, so that narrows the possibilities quite a bit. Would they try to stick to originals/covers from the 70s and 80s, or would they branch out (with older songs probably being more likely than newer). The song that instantly came to my head is "Run Rudolph Run" (the original 1958 Chuck Berry version).

Aren't they releasing a Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special this year - I bet that's why. The song selection may have some crossover with that. I like your pick for Run, Rudolph, Run. I'll add Little Saint Nick from The Beach Boys.

If it was not listed that Elsa will freeze the castle, does that mean that won't happen?

I'm guessing not. There's physical install work needed for that show (In 2019, they brought the crane in to install the lights in mid-September with parties starting in November) and I would think that this didn't make the list of things they are allocating manpower to.

Maybe they are serving less food in the skillets.

Probably, which I think is needed. Both times I’ve been there were enormous amounts of food being wasted, which is awful. And they didn’t have 2 person buckets/servings of anything. Anything they can do to cut waste is fantastic. However, they can get/make smaller buckets…

Has Disney announced the booking date for Candlelight Processional dinner packages yet?

DVC News:

Top of the World Lounge Reopening on July 11 at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort just announced that the recently-refurbished Top of the World Lounge (located atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort) will reopen to Disney Vacation Club Members as Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair on July 11, once again offering spectacular views for Members

As part of Membership Magic, a special hard-ticket event, the "Bound to be Bad" Fireworks Party, will be held prior to the opening on July 8-10. Members will revel in the darker side of their favorite Disney stories during a food-and-drink-filled fireworks party inside the newly refreshed lounge. Hosted by villain super-fans deviously decked out in their "Disney-bounding" best, this Membership Magic event includes a sinister spread of ominous appetizers, an open bar of cunningly crafted cocktails, and a raven's-eye view of the "Disney Enchantment" nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom Park.

This hard-ticket event will only be offered to eligible Members who are staying on Walt Disney World Resort property, who will receive more information about the reopening and event.

The location will operate daily from 6 p.m. to midnight; however, operating hours may be further impacted by blackout dates around major holidays and closure due to ticketed or other private events.
