‘Fantasmic!’ Celebrates 30 Years Today and Gears up for Spectacular Return to Disneyland Park on May 28

Imagine this – “Fantasmic!,” Disney’s longest-running nighttime spectacular, is celebrating its 30th anniversary today! That’s right – on this day thirty years ago – May 13, 1992 – “Fantasmic!” premiered to guests at Disneyland park.

“Fantasmic!” is an emotional extravaganza of colorful Disney-animated story scenes, choreographed to an exciting musical score. The waters of the Rivers of America come alive as Mickey Mouse dreams he is the Sorcerer’s Apprentice and faces dastardly villains, using the power of his imagination to save the day. Along the way, fantastic events and images as seen in stories like “Fantasia,” “The Jungle Book,” and more come to life with live performers, character appearances, enhanced special effects and pyrotechnics.

Construction Walls Removed from East Side of Spaceship Earth as Moana – Journey of Water Consumes West Side

As EPCOT’s icon, Spaceship Earth stands steadfast at the front of the park – even as everything around it changes. Recently, Disney removed some construction walls from the east overflow queue area. However, the Moana – Journey of Water construction side has expanded, even more, consuming the west exit to Spaceship Earth. Here’s a look around the area, which also includes a broken standby wait time sign for whatever reason.

I'm REALLY hoping the majority of walls will be down for my Jan 2023 trip.

Federal Judge Allows Disneyland Magic Key Annual Pass Lawsuit to Proceed, Park Pass Reservation System to Blame

According to a report from the OC Register, a federal judge has ruled that a lawsuit that alleges Disneyland has misled and deceived Magic Key Passholders is allowed to proceed. Disneyland is attempting to get the case dismissed.

At the heart of the lawsuit is the Park Pass reservation system, which puts in place additional restrictions on an Annual Pass beyond the blockout dates listed for the pass. The lawsuit is seeking $5 million in damages for Magic Key annual passholders.

United States District Court Judge David Carter denied Disney’s motion to dismiss, stating “the court finds that plaintiff has adequately pled facts supporting how a reasonable consumer may be deceived by the advertisement, which states ‘no blockout dates.’ Plaintiff argues that ordinary consumers generally understand blockout dates to be ‘dates when tickets, credits, passes or rewards cannot be used.” The Disneyland website currently lists Magic Key passes as having “reservation-based” admission to the Disneyland Resort theme parks.

Disney did this to themselves. They failed to price enough people out of buying a pass.

Mrsap…maybe you’ve answered this before…But I don’t know how to read your name. I’m thinking its either Mr SAP (like Mr sleep around points…like DVC reference) or Mrs AP (like ya know, Mrs annual pass). Or none of the above. Been struggling with this for a while
