The supports for the sign remain on the thatched roof.

I'm very happy to see Aloha Isle removed from mobile order. It was an absolute mess over there a few weeks ago when we went. Coming out of the Tiki Room was a real challenge. There were tons of people standing around waiting for mobile orders and blocking the exit from the Tiki Room. They had nowhere to go. The people exiting had nowhere to go. Just really bad.

Mobile order there was amazing right when it debuted. They had 1 window dedicated to mobile order and nobody was using it. Post-COVID though, everyone was using mobile order and it was awful. Truly terrible.

Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 Closing June 27 for Likely Use During Food and Wine Festival

According to Disney, Canada Far and Wide will be closing on June 27th at EPCOT. While not explicitly stated, it’s likely that the closure will be temporary as Disney prepares to use the space again for the upcoming EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, which begins July 14th and runs through November 19, 2022.
Ug. Does that mean it closes on 6/27? We'll be at Epcot 6/27 and would have loved to go to it since it was closed when we were there last summer too. (And my 'adult' kids LOVE the Canada song, lol.) Stinks to have it closed 2+ weeks before the next festival starts.

From a prior post … unfortunately, nothing official yet.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind' preview timetable begins to take shape at EPCOT

When the attraction does open, we should also expect a virtual queue to manage guest numbers. It would seem likely that an Individual Lightning Lane purchase will be offered, allowing Disney to quickly monetize the new ride. Should Disney go this way, as it did with Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, it does mean there will likely be no standby line option available to guests who miss out on either of the two ride reservation systems.
Thanks, I'm hoping it is just standby or lightning lane, I'm not a fan of VQ because it is just another thing to wake up early for :D

It will be a cold day in Hades before I eat Balsamic ice cream. I don't need to justify my preferences. That is all. You go right ahead and enjoy the mung bean and beeswax ripple. I'll be over at Ghiradelli. And I do avoid seafood places too. The smell is unbearable.
I think they go way over the top with their flavors. But, for those that love it I hope they visit often.
I don't see the place lasting, but I could be wrong.
I love dropping into the ice cream place in France at Epcot. No schlep to Disney springs. No vinegar ice cream, either. :rotfl:

Sorry. Your initial post insinuated a cause and effect, as in we lost that for this, as in in favor of. It's just semantics - no need to get upset.

I do find the overly antagnostic nature of the people against Salt & Straw to be surprising though. Have any of you even tried it? They do have "normal" flavors too. Why does it hurt so much that it exists? I mean, I don't like shellfish, but I'm not calling for them to close Cape May or other seafood places - I just don't go to them. :confused3

I totally agree with you. I haven't spewed hatred for Gideon's because they have a peanut butter cookie and cake special for this may. I detest peanut butter and peanuts, but I am glad others like it. Leaves more of the other flavors for me. If I don't like a place, I just don't go. I liked Ample HIlls, but apparently their business-model wasn't sustainable.

The one at Downtown Disney is very popular and has been open for a while now. Florean Fortescue's at Universal has some strange flavors and does amazingly well. I think it will stay. There are people who like gourmet ice cream. I consider most of the ice cream at Disney to be grocery store level or barely above, France excluded. However, you have to have a park ticket and reservation to get into Epcot. Anyone can go to Disney Springs. I don't find Ghirardelli to be all that either, and the line is usually crazy. I am an admitted ice cream snob though. Worked in ice cream shops where we made our own and own our own professional quality ice cream maker at home. DH even won 3rd in a big ice cream contest in town.

Yes, the Salt & Straw at DLR is always jumping and is very popular. Plus their ice cream is very high quality, even just the vanilla and chocolate! For me, I like Ghirardelli's actuall chocolate, but yeah, their ice cream and such isn't worth the wait. I used to like when they gave out a free square at the little store!

In park ice cream is, I beleive, sponsored by Edy's, so that's what it is. Not that that's bad mind you, and they make some good concoctions with it, but for me, on vacation, I like to get things I can't normally find, hence why I am up for trying some of the more exotic flavors.

A few places have Haagen Dazs (like Dino Bite Snacks in AK). I made sure I got my ice cream cookie sandwiches with the good stuff.

Agree! It's part of the adventure.

Two Water Mist Machines Returned to World Discovery in EPCOT

Two of the water mist machines removed last week have been returned to the World Discovery neighborhood in EPCOT.

One of the misters is by a splash pad, not far from Connections Eatery.

The mister is now red, with white supports, to match the color scheme of World Discovery.

Two blocks are covered in scrim next to the mister.

This is where another mist machine will sit.

The poles around the splash pad are also now World Discovery red.

Closer to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, another red and white mister has been installed.

Not sure why they would close the attraction when they can use the “Showcase Pavillion” for festival features.

I agree. We have a place in our town that has both balsamic ice cream and goat cheese ice cream. I liked both, but maybe not on a daily basis. That's the fun of having new things on vacation though.
