More Ride Backstory Revealed for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

A new sign has been unveiled at the entrance to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind that reveals more of the backstory of the attraction. The sign offers a brief description of the roller coaster, along with some standard warnings for an attraction of this style.

Be aware that you will be transported to a Nova Cruiser orbiting above Terra for a demonstration which will consist of a thrilling high-speed, turbulent – what you Terrans would call a ‘roller coaster-type ride’ that goes forward and backward through the dark. It includes sharp turns sudden drops and stops.

New permits filed for interior work at TRON Lightcycle Run in Magic Kingdom and when we may see the new coaster open​

Filed by Walt Disney Imagineering, the work is to be carried out by Icarus Exhibits, a company that has most recently performed similar work on 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.' Thanks to danlb_2000 on the WDWMAGIC Forums for locating the permits.

Although we still don't have any opening timeframe for TRON at Walt Disney World, the pace of construction appears to have picked up in recent weeks.

The opening of the new Magic Kingdom rollercoaster is likely to come down to a marketing decision of when to use the new ride to promote visits to Walt Disney World. With EPCOT's 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind' set to headline the marketing drive for the summer and fall, it would seem the earliest we could expect to see TRON Lightycle Run debut would be very late 2022, or more likely Spring 2023.

I feel like they’d want to have it ready for the holiday crowds. MK needs something new to suck up some of the crowds.

Cast Members Can Sign up for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Previews with Family & Friends Starting at Midnight (Sold Out)​

As EPCOT continues to get ready for the attraction's grand opening on May 27, 2022, eligible Cast Members will soon have a chance to register for more Disney Cast Life Previews with friends and family.

Cast Members and up to two Guests will be able to attend Disney Cast Life Previews beginning in May. Cast can register for only one preview experience with Guests. If you signed up for Cast Member early sneak peeks in April, you are still eligible to register for a Disney Cast Life Preview in May.

Fire Alarm Testing to Take Place on April 27-28 at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa​

Guests staying at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa this week should be aware that the the annual audible fire alarm test is scheduled to take place on April 27-28, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. During that time, Guests may hear the audible fire alarms and/or have a Cast Member enter their room to verify all alarms are functioning properly.

Cast Members will be placing signs throughout the resort to notify Guests of the testing process.

I'm wondering if October 1st, as a close-out of the 50th wouldn't make sense. Would help level out Fall crowds, and even get people to MK on those "slower" days when they have the Halloween events.

The 50th celebration goes until Apr 1st, 2023, so there is time.
