Disney to Host Parks-Focused Investor Event at Walt Disney World Next Week

According to a report from Deadline, Disney execs are gearing up for a Parks-focused investor event early next week at Walt Disney World. The event will take investors on a tour through Walt Disney World, which is currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Executives are also expected to speak directly to investors in a meeting during the two-day event. The Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products division represents a major source of income for the company, despite most investors’ interest in Disney+. It is expected that some news will come from the event, and it seems unlikely that Disney will delay a formal announcement of the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster much longer. Of course, we perhaps received a preview of the opening date when newly appointed PR chief Geoff Morrell tweeted out the Memorial Day Weekend timeframe.

Very interesting that this is an Investor event. Its not a press/blogger event so I'm not thinking a major announcement like GotG or Torn opening dates. Wondering if Bob will be there. And if so, will there be counter-demonstrators.

Yep ... timing and optics are not so great for this, but I'm not sure how much this meeting will be on the radar

Won’t investors want to know what’s happening with the money they have put in? I would want to know when x ride is opening. Bob could do with some good publicity at the moment if he has any common sense.

This is the thing I was on about earlier in the thread. Hopefully lots of good news to take away from the crap of the past couple of weeks Bob hopes….
Prediction:
-Date for gotg
-date or season for moana
-date or season for “dreamers point”
-date for connections cafe open/travelers cafe closure
-timeline for tron
-date/season/status update in general on play & ducktales
-trams back at Epcot, studios, dak
-Fantasmic

A fifth park announcement would do that. 😂

I'd expect a large announcement like that to come out at D23. However, major investors are probably wondering what Disney is going to do to compete with Universal's Epic Universe. There really hasn't been any new large announcements since 2018 or 2019 for WDW. Disney is going to need something major to compete better.
