Disney needs to have a dining plan type thing for day visitors like Sea World has. Pay one price and get a wrist band and you can eat all day long. and offer it so there is a discount built in. As it is a burger , fries and soda costs 12.00 anymore. They could offer two counter service meals and three snacks(popcorn, soda, cookie, etc) for one price. Sea worlds plan costs 30.00.

I don't mind the concept, but not the all you can eat part. The counter service places are busy enough as it is, having a bunch of gorgers in all day eating will just grind everything to a halt. I know Disney takes some heat for the quality of their counter service, but its way better than the junk cranked out at Sea World. If they wanted to sell some kind of ticket for 2 counter service meals for $20-25, that would be OK, but they don't need a free for all.

I look at any sort of dining plan being an incentive to stay on property. I think if you start adding a "day package", it takes away that incentive. That's just my two cents.

The alternative is to bring your own food. Which is an option most parks don't give you but Disney does. Or even just bring drinks. At $2.50 each drinks add up.

I don't think it would be cost efficient for the disney one day tripper anyway. Right now it costs $34.99 for one day on the QS plan. With that you get 2 QS meals, 2 snacks and a refillable mug. Now even if they cut back $2 because you wouldn't want the mug.....can you really not eat 2 quick serves for $32.00? The average burger at Disney is only a little over $10. A snack is only $3-4.

So why would anyone bother with that?

That's a perk reserved for resort guests... if they let anyone have a DP, why would anyone want to stay on property?

You might note that many people stay on property without buying a dining plan.

Honestly, I don't thin that Disney food prices are that bad, even if you pay cash. King's Island or Cedar Point (in my ara) are WAY more expensive than Disney. Coke, 2.50 at Disney, CD/KI 4.00+ No joke. Subway at CP , for a foot long, $13.00 this summer....that's nuts.

Disney is cheaper than King's Dominion in Virginia...
We get season passes there and go quite often, their food prices are way higher and the food is awful! LOL...

We had Quick Service at Disney last fall and no complaints on the food.

I agree that the CS prices are fine; it's the TS that are sometimes way too high.

It's an interesting idea, though, OP. Thanks for bringing it up.

:)

NO!!, Please NO!!
Enough is enough!!
The dining plan is an incentive to stay onsite. We don't need more dining plans

Disney uses their dining plans as an incentive to get people to stay in their resorts. If you offer dining plans to anyone, that's one less reason for people to book a Disney resort, when they can stay in a cheaper hotel offsite. I really can't see them doing it.

Yes, but keeping it a resort perk is more incentive because you can do it.

If you want the option of having an all-inclusive (or as close as you can get to one)... stay on-site.

Heck, depending on when you go during the year, sometimes it's cheaper or more cost effective to stay on-site...

YOU are right its cheaper when they offer free dining plan to stay on site..its a great deal..hopefully have it this fall....again heres hoping anyway

The point would be to keep non-resort guests in the park. A lot of people leave to eat off-site. Not a bad idea OP.

And the dining plan is really only a "perk" when they offer it for "free." All Disney is really doing is giving you food in exchange for paying rack rate. Either way you pay...
